There's no intrinsic value to warrants.. Since REEF is going at cheap REEF.19 has no value at even 0.10 but its always a play.. Previously it hit 2 and went up and few stories repeated as such. So with these kinda shares, some indicators like 14day MA or even MACD might not work.. But looking at chart  histories, there are other facts to consider at what price this looks attractive in history. So the similar patterns, trends only we have to deal with in these kinda warrants..

@Small, CIFL and CSF also depreciating investments unless they turnaround..I didn't advice any1 to keep away from reef. I said present price is not right time. I buy high and sell high for following shares where I made good profit in twod (twice),cifl and csf brokerage lost.. PCH no idea at all, nw dr,s gives sum hopes...I will play with reef, but not this price, if it move up I will let it go. Let me give u what I mean by buy high sell high. I bought TWOD at 3.9 when it get back from 3.5 and traded 6 mn qty. That was da lowest ever. I was pretty confident that buyer should push up I got decent profit. In previous rally it came to new low about 5.5 then made rally on following days from 6.3 trading over 6 mn qty. So at that time I bought few ten thousands qty and sold from 7.3-8.3 range if I remember the highest correctly..Even I disclosed this on that same day. Even CIFL and CSF gave me good indication when I bought but I got exit with brokerage lost as I wasn't sure about the buying pattern... For me Reef is not is da buying region at the moment. Even if it goes 1.2 sumtimes I may not buy, but I may buy at 1.6 if I could figure out it could run. I am pretty concentrate on making profit rather losing on spec shares..

Jana- How much of TWOD were you able to buy at 3.9? because when a share is moving up it's difficult buy in big quantity. If you plan to collect around 25,000 reef warrants, you could when it's moving up. But if you want to collect like more than 100,000 it's gonna be difficult cause there want be much sellers then, since it's moving up. There is also more risk involved in this

I started buying reef warrants at 2.6 with little quantities and bought around 50% of what I plan to hold at 2.1, I will buy more if it goes to 1.8 or when it moves up.

They say it has no value ( considering reef.N price and 19 conversion price) and the company does not want their customers to take such a risk. That was his reply. And further he said it has to be approved by their directors if i want to buy it Mad

Though there is presently truth in the statement, am not sure it is hindering the freedom of a client to purchase what he wants ( especially if it their money).

If so I guess they won;t allow you to buy any warrant ( greg, clpl)

I know to certain extend some of the broker huts asking their Investment Advisors to get the approval from their line managers or directors before allowing their clients to buy certain warrants. (This is due to the warrant disasters what most of the investors were experienced recently) Basically the Broker huts want to safeguard their IAs.

Even the adviser has no idea of how long it will take to get an approval for one order (cos, interestingly, no one has asked him so far ). And then there is fluctuation difficulties. This "getting approval" thing takes time and will definitely discourage the buyer. And even the adviser has no idea at what price this restrictions will be lifted. I see a significant impact neh Shocked

Their thinking is understandable but how they do it is not correct.

They can only warn and instruct IA's and IA should clearly warn and explain the risks to the clients if they wanted to buy such risky shares.

@pirate wrote:They say it has no value ( considering reef.N price and 19 conversion price) .....
This is wrong.

Value will come IF/when N share goes over the limit. How can you buy W at current low level after N goes up ? People who wanted to take risk to get high return should be allowed to do so.

When NTB was trading @ 30/- NTB-W was @ 6/-
conversion price was 40/-
As per their theory NTB W had no value and you should not buy.

When NTB went over 120/- we sold W over 60/- gaining a profit over 10 times of the investment.

I am not predicting the same here, but they cannot prohibit you to buying it.

My broker do no blocking but verbally instruct new people about the W risks and discourage them.

Mate,

Your statement is partly true if that shares is fundamentally good.

at 3.9, I was able to buy may be 200-300,000 shares but I bought few ten thousands. .When it ever upward momentum geraed you could buy entire company if you want- no more talk abt bargain. Just buy the price it was trading after identifying proper pattern...

For REEF.w, if you need 500k shares even you could get as days roll off. Let say if sum1 dump 500k shares it will suddenly go to 1.5 region but you would ended up with frustration and filled at-least 70% f ur expected qty and you would stop buying, Ur avage price would have been above 2. In case if it go to 1.2-1.4 range, and make a run with ebough vol, I would grap this share at 1.7, what ever da qty I want, mostly sellers are da1 like you who went under immense pressure for last 2-3 months as holder of warrants.. Even if it stops it rally at 2, I could make sum profit and exit where as sum1 like you would hold and dream abt it as your expected selling price would have been high since u bought from 2.6, that means you expect to sell atleast 3. It will be a day dream for you, one day this share would trade at 0.1 befr mature den next day disappear...I am not sure abt ur age and experience, neither I want u to follow me or care my words. These r from my experience..No1 knows da bottom for this type of crap, but you only could smell when it make run. If I were you, I would pbly start to buy around 1.8. If it make run I would let it go... I am pretty focused on making money rather than losing on crap shares..So far I never made, sumtimes sold at da average price I bought or ended up with brokerage lost..

Value wise, there's a truth in what ur broker has to say.. However, No value or high value, a broker cant make that buying decision for you imo.. That's like depriving u of your primary rights.. Its ur money and u ought to believe they care???

As if Redbull expresses, there's some concern as such, they need to communicate it to the clients in writing.. If that's a genuine case.

On the other hand, how many guys will have issues not being able to sell when they want if this happens? tongue

Asia allow to buy REEF.W19 only if you have a positive cash balance in your account, for that also I couldn't make buy orders from Direct FN, It has to be done by the broker agent him self.

If they do this for greg warrants that's acceptable. The key here is time, this warrant has 2 years. Also Reef has lot of news in the future that could boost the share price including warrants, atleast short term, like their new hotels opening

I feel something fishy. In my experience brokers never cared about their clients, has that changed I don't know. I never talk to my broker, I never trust them. Why are these broker huts discouraging the buying of Reef warrants??? Can somebody guess

If there is mega rally, Reef group should have started moving by this week along JKH rally. Hopefully Dist also will follow. If reef fail to make rally before October Reef warrants will be trading at very discounted price during November and December... It seems there is emance selling pressure for warrants as per last week selling. For 600k qty it unable to push beyond 2.4, but previous rallies were different... I am not a holder of warrants but pattern reader to grasp at right time...

To be honest, I failed miserable in pattern reading.. I remember Arena does it too.. I can only rely on chart patterns.. But usual 14 day crossin 50 Day MA never worked for REEF.W19 when the history is considered..

In June 2012, this had hit 2.1 and ultimately ended up @ 9.0 within two weeks.
In August 2012, this had hit 5.4 and ultimately ended up @ 7.8 within 8-10 days.
In April 2013, this had hit 2.3 and slowly hit 4.1 within two weeks. Then slowly it climbed down to correct more than 100% so in July 2013, we saw this landing at its all time low of 2.0 and...............................................

All these times we saw increase volume over 1 Mil to really qualify for an uptrend from its bottom levels, and sudden increase of vols before it hit peaks.

The salient features in above up-trends were;
RSI>40, MACD crossover, ADX crossing or indication of strong up-trend
which is also we're seeing these days..

But... Y'day there was a slowdown...

So how sure r u abt ur pattern reading? Razz

@ Small,

May be your way of trading and risk taking would be differ from mine. My main focus of depreciating shares (Fundamental values depreciate or enough risk within reasonable time) like warrants where voting trading at very discounted price than the warrants and heavy loss making co like CIFL, TWOD my approach is very conservative. Only if I know this share could move up (more than 75% possibility), then only I will buy.

Just consider REEF.W19, Morethan 600k Shares even couldn't push shares more than 0.2 cents even at its bottom. Doesn't it smell sumthng strange if you clearly look back history??

08 June 2012- 280 k shares push price from 2.3 to 3

11/June 125k shares pushed from 3 to 3.5

19/June 1111k pushed price from 4.6 to 6.7

This rally because of maturity period of W16 warrant.

This time 600k had done nothing, the price return backed where it started.. That smell sum1 is dumping. If you want go and check my history where CIFL had rally from 2.5 to 2.8 I warned sum1 dumping. I don't know hw many listened. But today selling at 1.2- more than 100 % lost..

For REEF.W16 I didn't get that sort of strange signal but I am not sure its direction. So I prefer to buy at cheap rather putting money on unknown stuffs...

Some corrections:

Aug-2012 rally cannot be considered as fresh rally. It was continuation of June/2012 drama to dump.. Now the new separate chapter. When higher qty is be ing sold at small price up then very high chance to ended up in small rally even rally followed by next two days. That what happened during April 2013.

I expect a big overall mkt uptrend within next two months, if so it could make better rally may be 3.0-3.5. The question is should sum1 need to take that much risk as mkt goes up most fundamental could give better return....
