My reasons for selecting CSD as one of the best shares in the CSE:

- Debt-Equity ratio is an excellent 0.1%

- An outstanding Price to Book value of 0.34

- A 50+ perch land at Union Place to be included in CSD’s portfolio and the construction of a 10 storey office complex on said land

- Additions: CSD is hoping to come up with extra value additions to their existing Seylan Tower premises

- Income increase: Rentals expected to go up after refurbishments

- Electricity cost reduction program: CSD has tied up with Access Solar Systems for bringing up innovative solar energy system in order to reduce electricity consumption of Seylan Towers by approx 30%.

- Absolutely no connection to the former regime - Kotelawala etc have nothing to do with this company - new shareholders and directors.

All Time High: 23.90
Current Price: Rs 10 (with a NAV of almost 29 - under-valued)
Target Price within 12 months*: Rs 14 (40% growth)

Jana, Why do you say that COMD is a good buy. What are your analysis on this share. Good or bad at least there is some analsysis behind CSD.

Turnover is low, one director has his company reistration in british vergin island ? did check the numbers but did not find anything to justify GEM status?

the reason to say about to COMD
1. because you ask us "Forgotten GEMS" of course COMD Forgotten one.. most of them no interest on it..

2.no risk at this level to buy COMD. EPS and NAV ... is very good .. this quarter interim report may say NAV more than 100/=

3. very very illiquid stock .. I can Challenge... no body cannot collect more than 30000 COMD under 90/= or 100/= level ...( @ 100/= level may be that Big seller can come back again.... he don;t want to sell under 100/= I watch long time)

If you thing 10/= profit is enough then collect all under 70/= level then easy to push up to 100/= or 90/= and sell it..( it is not speculation advise)

Jana, Thanks. Note EPS is around Rs.19 come down from Rs.28 NAV is Rs.99 not a bad share but will have issues of growth in the future so it will not be a hidden GEM but you are correct not a bad share to collect. Where is this land of theres they are talking about which they have leased to the parent com bank?? The book value is 1.2Bn.

EPS 19 from 28 Because depend on valuation of those year..

any how good dividend yield as well..4/= per share every year even if they have +eps or not..

VFIN : I dont know whether its forgotten or a Gem for others.But looks to me a good buy.

Like to get insights from others as well

look at the EPS growth and how steady YoY. If it records anything above 2.00 for Jun qtr it has a good chance to move another level easily.

2009/10 - 1.34
2010/11 - 2.63
2011/12 - 5.56
2012/13 - 7.06

Dividend PO ratio is Good
