Hi.. Haputantri... I checked the pacific textiles web site..under business....you get awissawella sri lanka...and following is what i found...

Avissawella, Sri Lanka

To further diversify its geographical reach, we strategically expanded the operation to Sri Lanka in 2004. The facility, operating on a round-the-clock basis, adds over ten million pounds to the Company’s annual production volume, predominantly focused on knitting and dyeing exclusively.

We obtain water from facilities operated by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI). Waste water produced from the manufacturing process undergoes chemical treatment at its wastewater treatment plant prior to being transferred back to the BOI facilities for additional treatment and subsequent discharge into waterways. The BOI regulates the amount of water available to us. Limits on the amount of water available to us have been a principal constraint on the ability to increase production at the Sri Lanka facility. In August 2006, we were able to obtain from the BOI an increase of approximately 75% in its daily water quota

TJL IPO price was 15.. A lot await to reclaim their money when this reaches 15.. Some may have already disposed since it reached 14 today.
But as for an investment, this is not bad.. TJL has been slowly moving up from 10 onwards unnoticed..

BOI boasts about facilitating the FDI but they also have controls restricting the production process of investors. ? What a contradiction! Thanks fotr exposing this issue.

If the overall market moves up, it ll go up even more. P/E still at 8 or so - market P/E at 12 :s So more potential to go up. PBV also ok.

I have some TJL shares bought at IPO for 15/=.
They have been growing strongly and paying the  following dividend:
23.2.2012          0.12
24.5.2012          0.36
07.2.2013          0.66
01.6.2013          0.58
*See CSE LINK
Total paid         1.70 per share
I gained it for my investment.
So the current value of my investment is just Rs13.30 per share. (Last traded @ 14.20)
Even though it has taken a very difficult period of 2 years, they haven't abandoned us

TJL has a policy of rewarding shareholders - its a great share. Its a BUY even at these rates since the PE and PBV is still healthy given the great earnings growth

When it is performing better, the long waited investor can await for a better price. I feel now only TJL is gearing up even at this bearish market, it jumped up by 60 cents to close at the highest with big vol:idea: Very Happy

Buying is eased and selling pressure creating it price down. Look at below 13. Good investment and with a good dividend yield.

TJL has come to attractive levels due to profit taking. A company with an Rs 8 billion market capitalization making Rs 1 billion profits: excellent

In March, Textured Jersey grew annual net profit by 62%; hit Rs. 1 bn mark

"Textured Jersey Lanka PLC (TJL), Sri Lanka's leading provider of knit fabric, has delivered an impressive Rs.1.02 bn in net profit for the full year ended 31st March 2013 (FY2012/13), an increase of 62% year on year, as per the latest results released to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE)".

Q on Q, there's been an increase of almost 40% so maybe net profit for this financial year will touch 1.5 billion - Textured Jersey 1Q FY13/14 profit up 40% year on year

Last Q, Rs.0.58/share final dividend brings the FY12/13 combined pay out to 80% of FY12/13 full year profits

If so, we can perhaps expect a dividend of almost rs 3 given their dividend policy if there is a significant increase in profits in next Q as well. Given the ruppee depreciation + cotton price movements, the company could have an outstanding quarter. Brandix leaders are well known for their brilliant management as well.

DISCLAIMER: please do your own research before making a buy decision: do not be influenced by my post or anyone else's.

I wouldn't say that is profit taking. The buyer either got exit or bought enough qty for the time being. It needs time to run again. It will further come down to settle...

I added this to a TJL discussion since Balanced_view keep on talking about TJL. To me, the continuous talking of 1 share opening new threads seems a promotion..

Some ppl will never stop educating others promoting..

But if the market surges, you ll have to wait for a long time! :s

This is such a good share that its a negative beta stock :s even when market moved down this went up!
Ya agreed because of strong financial results and the trend had caused to huge buying currently. On future buying will be eased , as per my memory TJL has never passed IPO price. Am I right? So above 14 it may have some selling pressure too.
Medium-term and long-term investors,
Keep an eye on TJL. Below 13 attractive... Buy qtywise , collect for your future...
