I think its better to do your own analysis before you buy anything.. If you are not from a financial background its better to read news or articles or any research report before you buy or sell. And its always better to inform your broker not to buy or sell anything without informing you.

Evaluating a company is not about evaluating the market. I recommend not to be a trader but a long term investor..Less hassle. Invest in some good fundamentally strong companies.

This forum will help you to take your decisions as well.. But always do your own analysis. Don't rely on others words.

If you can study the behavior of the share during last few months before you buy it may help you.

We feel NTB is also good for a beginner to enter in small quantities.

Good choice. I think you can earn a 50% return in less than three months.

Their profit for the current quarter consists of rent income as usual and profit from the sale of LLUB 600,000 shares. These two generated the Rs.22.40 EPS.

NAV was increased by about 130% due to re-valuation of their investment portfolio as they change their accounting standards to IFRS requirements. But they haven't taken this fair value adjustments into profit and loss. I think they hope to book the profits at the point of disposing. So CABO is still a hidden gem.

One can ask, Can they sustain the earnings. I believe YES. They have sold only 30% of their LLUB holding. If they continue to dispose the quantity in next three quarters also CABO can sustain the same EPS. When look at purchasing pattern of foreign funds, this scenario is highly luckily.

Except LLUB they have more than a billion worth other blue chips in their portfolio.

As per year 11/12 annual results EPS is Rs:8.62 & divident Rs:2/-. For Rs:150/- a share PER is around 18x. ?Current price is around Rs:133.00.

However, last Q 30/06/13 results are good EPS Rs: 22.40. I do not know whether this is a one off result or not. If they can at least continue to maintain this EPS level its good.

My feeling is that there are other shares with better prospects than this to look at. Do your home work first. Bigin your analysis by comparing PER & NAV of the companies. You will learn more by refering to articles in here.

Welcome dear friend! I was also 19yrs old when I joined this forum. I will give you the general facts which should be known by new investors. Those are based on my personal experiences broadly.

1. Decisions should be yours and not your adviser's. Don't let them to do whatever they want because money is yours.

2. Knowledge is the power. Try to learn things. Don't take any risk by doing unknown things. We're here to help you on any matter. You can search and study lot of very valuable things here. There range from beginner to expert.

3. Don't go on fake runs. (Fake run is a serious of artificial price movements caused by market manipulation [taking the control of a share by people who have extreme financial power to make maximum profit]). You may see that they are very attractive and able to make you quick profit. Actually those are miracles and that bubble may explode at any time. You may know or not, that ASI was @7000 level and it fell down to 4000 level, caused by those explosions. The nature of a fake run( or manipulation) is quick change of price within a short period of time (sometimes it may be 1 min or less).

4. Don't buy any share without knowing its financial background. Refer to Annual reports first. I suppose you have finished A/Ls and in commerce stream. That knowledge is sufficient for now. If you have followed another stream and not commerce, you should learn them little by little. They are simple.

5. It is much beneficial if you have got online trading facility. Ask it from your adviser.

Best Regards!

By and forget. Don’t try to book profit very often till you get seasons. In other words do not focus quick money. Think about long run. The best thing is that before buying you have to have schedule of stock with reasons as to why you consider them. Then collect, EPS, DPS, NAVPS etc. Read annual reports and future forecast etc. Never buy with mere brokers recommendations. They recommend what they want to sell. You will never be able to change market direction but if you can find the same correctly you will be able to win.

Welcome to the Forum son.
Do your own calculations and use your gut feelings (sometimes) than Broker recommendations.
20T does not look like a big amount right now and with time on your hand (being so young), you can turn that in to a 20B even.
Good Luck.

Welcome brother,
Regarding CABO I think better to calculate your exit price early. I meant gain/loss of some %. You didn't mention your purchase price but I guess it should be 125+. Anyway I'm not going to touch CABO at these prices. I did some short-term trading with this between 110-123. but majority of our forum are expecting a better dividend from CABO. Since its majority Im also not going to doubt about it. But not recommended to buy CABO at this prices unless you 100% sure about Div Hope CABO will announce a big div and all the very best...

I feel really sad about our new member and my advice is don't give up and don't trust brokers. Do your own analysis. Take some time and do studies about stock market. Analysis Financial statements .
