Thanks Shri for sharing. Local sales has exceeded purchases. My broker says this is due to margin calls. When its ncessary to force sell the broker sells good counters thus pulling down the pricesw of all.

Market began a fresh week with mixed sentiment where ASI marginally declined to end 0.14% down. Index closed at 6,224.34 with a drop of 8.87 points. However, S&P SL 20 Index managed to gain 2.63 points (+0.08%) with the support of the price appreciations in Nestle (LKR 2,549.00,+4.4%), John Keells Holdings (LKR 260.00,+1.3%) and Distilleries (LKR 194.90,+1.1%).

Daily market turnover was LKR 1.1bn. HNB non-voting recorded the highest turnover of LKR 828mn along with negotiated deal totaling to 823mn shares which changed hands at a price of LKR 117.50 per share. The value of the crossings accounted for 73% of the total market turnover. Further John Keells Holdings with LKR 72mn and Commercial Bank with LKR 50mn were the next top contributors to the daily turnover.

Meanwhile Expo Lanka, Nations Finance and Nestle were among the mostly traded stocks during the day.

Foreign participation for the day was 47%. Foreign investors were net buyers for the third consecutive day with a net inflow of LKR 848mn. With today’s inflow, YTD Foreign inflows to the bourse crossed LKR 17bn mark and reached LKR 17.7bn. Foreign net inflows were seen in counters such as Hatton National Bank non-voting (LKR 803mn), Commercial Bank (LKR 49mn) and Nestle (LKR 21mn) while foreign net outflows were seen in John Keells Holdings (LKR 44mn).

Cash map ended at 60%.
