Looks like VFIN's propects in the short term are good. With a PAT of 27% and EPS of 7.
Even at a price of 29 + buying this share seems okay. But I am not aware of any hidden or negative information that may impact the value in the foreseeable future.

Any ideas chaps?

I feel like this will take off soon. CSE Disclosures shows Rangamuwa keeps on collecting and bid qty at 30.00 slowly building up.

those who silently watch and act during these "dull" time might  get rewarded handsomely  in the future.

I see 3  shares on my watch gaining more interest than usual. VFIN  is 1 of them. The other one  I talked about already. Some huge orders appear and dissapear ( but without filling )

The 3rd..   is not a "big"  share in anyway .

VFIN has been showing some collection in the last 2 weeks. There has been consistent buying at around 30/-

SAMP is also getting quite attractive now.. Hmmmmmmmm....

Not a buy recommendation

Cheers!

Is this a trustworthy way to decide the value of a share??? Can't we think big bosses of companies trying to create demand this way??

You already know the 2nd one as I saw you talk about it ;-)

3rd one is a very small share in price and company size.

VFIN has shown good results with annualised profit over Rs 6 per share. What I am worried about is their impairment charges have been very low still which for me looks like holding things back.

Also their net asset value is around Rs 24 which is much lower than the current price. Remember the assets of financial companies are mostly sub prime hence there is a big risk that this will drop very quickly and profits will reverse even faster. Just look at TFC as an example.

Their main impairments would come from pawning I presume.

As mentioned before, they only started pawning business in March. It was a good time to enter as the gold had already dropped/dropping for them. So they must have taken a cautious approach and there won't be too much impairment.

If you look at assets base of VFIN they are diffrerent to TFC . TFC has some serious issues and am not sure how they can reciover. Its too much time now. Once they looked like a turn around but it actually got worse. DP being behind VFIN is also positive incase of any emergency cash issue.
