Thanks Sriranga,

The above charts clearly shows that the foreigners are continuously investing in CSE since 1992. There are instances where some outflows had happen.

The conclusion is we are loosing the ground day by day. During this year to date they have purchased more than 22 billion worth stock from our companies and individuals. How much money we will loose as dividend and capital gain in future. At least the GOV, Institutes  and HNWI should consider this seriously!

Isn't it a glaring fact that individuals (local and foreign ) investment behavior is diametricaly opposed the that of the companies ?

Local individuals are heavily sell out while local companies buy marginally. Foreign companies are continuously buying.

Thanks for valuable charts presented.
Apart from the serious points considered above, it is convulsive to imagine that the outcome of the exodus of foreign investors.

In essence this Means :   Individuals are manly traders. ( shorter term)   compared to  companies/institutions  who go for longer term holding.

This makes sense doesn;t it if one considers the "investment needs/investment life span/returns " of an   Individual  vs Institution

Btw from what I seen it is amazing what the definition of longer term is in the forum .  Though it depends on the mentality of the person ,  I seen people say low as 3 years  as long term.  If one reall want to understand what longer term mean , atleats we need to lool at Bond market.

Same concept applies above. Individuals want to make profit more quickly and get out and not let it accumulate and compound by holding too long. So who do they pass it on to ?? These graphs show it

Good job Bullrun and thanks for the effort ( sri thx for posting)

Thanks Sri and all,

What I wanted to highlight is the CSE is not a bad place to invest since the world as well as local companies have some trust over it and some of the individuals (specially local), who may have frustrated with the situation we faced recent past are getting out of the market and hope they will enter at right moment definitely. Early birds will catch the worm. That is the signal.

Hats off to Bullrun. Great work.
Note still more than 25% of the CSE Market Capitalization is with the Foreign investors.

Thanks for generating such an interesting post Bullrun. Puts the market into perspective.

I feel local investors (retail) get burnt on the speculative stocks and condemn the market. Foreigners invest in blue chips which give good returns on the long term.

The S&P index is still new. So long term comparisons are not possible. However it would be interesting to see how blue chips like JKH and Commercial bank have fared in US$ terms

Thank you very much for the information. If we analyses these data we should have an idea about investing on CSE.
