if the gold price high the provision would be reverse it will affect to the other income portion gold price still hovering around 1300 usd

Yes that is a big problem....

Also compare the interest income in the P/L and that in the cash-flow statement.... someone is accruing interest without actual cash inflow Razz

Did you spot same issues you mentioned with HNB

( HNB Pawning portfolio is much lower than SAMP though)

@slstock .... page 9 point 8 in the Explanatory Notes

.... Accrual interest is a big problem in the pawning business. If you compare the interest expense in both the P/L and the cash-flow statement you can see the two numbers are very close.

Accrual interest is also a problem in the Finance and microfinance business where interest income earned may just be an accounting entry

No I got that. I asked whether you studied HNB ( with lesser pawning portfolio) but still would essentially have same issues.

I didn't look at HNB (I never really have favoured HNB). I can see there some mismatch in the fee and interest income segment

Also notice that in the cash flow statement the deposit generation (from customers) has dropped. At the same time loan issuance has flattened.

Deposit generation at HNB has come down from 35b to 22b. It appears that things have gotten competitive

NTB seems to be the only bank that has kept things in check with regards to accrual income issues.

Rs 160/= is possible after quarterly results.
EPS will be around 20-21

with almost 25% of loan portfolio on Gold, SAMP should have a good risk management team on Gold prices.

Seems to me their risk management team is existing only in the annual report, practically sleeping.
Any layman monitoring gold prices with US treasury yield could have forecast gold prices will fall, and adjusted the pawning portfolio and pawning rate per gram.
How can we believe their risk management in the future?? they just wait for disasters to happen??
