Recommendations by others is highly risky. If you propose something we'll have a discussion.

This good time to collect sampath

But i think best thing is to sell some existing shares and buy

Stock market is not a dependable place at present

That is general opinion of most of investors

This not negative statement. This is reality

Authorities should understand this and take appropriate action

Stock market has become to" ATAKUNA" level due misleading advice and blunders of this govt after 2009.

" MUN MAKA KEWA"

It is very difficult to correct now.

i would buy HNB.X rather than SAMP.
cos feel like SAMPATH might dip liltle bit more.
other reason being Dividend
  HNB.X - Rs 8.5
SAMP.N - Rs 6.00 + Scrip Div [1 for 34]

Since you new to the stock market i feel this is ideal scenario to buy good stocks...
BuY SHOT @ 24-25 , SHOT X 13-14,
if market falls BuY KAPI 24-25
PAP 2.3-2.4
TJL 13-14
CINS X 350-370
UBC 16-16.30
(If you are lucky above stocks @ above prices will give you 10%-20% gain very quickly...

The way I think is; If ur up for investment growth. a company giving a script dividend is better than a copmany distributing profits thru a dividend. The reason is that they they save the interest of share holders by adding more shares to them, its up to the holder to sell it and get money if they want but at least it will keep the money withing share holders thus within the company.

U may see most multinationals like LLUB, NEST declare at least 4 dividends a year.. That's cuz they want to take the money out of the country.
