Is it ok to buy ACL Cable at Rs 65 - 70 level?

Now only 6270 sellers;

ACL Electric, a subsidiary company of the group, proudly announced the launch of the ACL Switches and Sockets, to complement the world class cables manufactured by the group. " It is a very natural evolution for our business, we possess the know how and the capability to introduce another great product , to meet the needs of the user, therefore moving into this business was a given" commented Suren Madanayake – Managing Director of ACL Cables.

Introducing the new range to the market the Sales Manager - Rohan Daluwatte stated " Through extensive research , we discovered that the consumer is not very happy with the products available in the market. Whilst a switch, just like the cable used in wiring is expected to last a long time, that is available today does not conform to the expectations. Many complain that the switch gives away and has to be replaced in a couple of years." He further added " The main reason for this is that the quality of material , component used in the manufacturing process are not the best. Therefore over a period of time the product tends to give away. On the other hand our product is made using the best quality brass components and silver as the contact point. Even the gauge of the material used is much higher and you can feel it when you hold an ACL switch. Our switches have already been certified for quality by the PSB Singapore in addition to the local SLS standards" ACL Switches and sockets will be available across the island in over 6500 stores within the month and the discerning consumers now have the opportunity to use them with a life time guarantee from the 50 year old giant in cable manufacturing.

ACL Cables eyeing Rs 400 mln investment projects by mid this year

By Duruthu Edirimuni Chandrasekera

ACL Cables PLC will begin some Rs 400 million worth projects in power related areas by mid this year, officials said.
“We’re looking at getting into more power connected areas,” Suren Madanayake, Managing Director ACL Cables PLC told the Business Times. He noted that tourism will ‘not’ be a potential area they’ll go into as many have already invested in it. He added that the company is targeting these ventures in a bid to diversify into their non cable -related areas.

ACL Cables PLC recorded a turnover of Rs 4.7 billion for the nine months ending 31st December 2012 compared to Rs 3.8 billion in 2011. The company’s profits before tax recorded Rs. 187 million for the same period compared to Rs 207 billion. ACL Cables Group’s profits before tax moved up by 27 per cent to Rs. 617 million.

Mr. Madanayake said that one of the most favourable developments during the year to have directly contributed to ACL’s performance has been the expansion of rural electrification efforts by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). “As one of our main clients, this increase constituted an upsurge in demand for our products, thereby contributing to our improved turnover.

Accelerated infrastructural and economic development in the north and east will boost the economy further and in turn benefit ACL,” he said, adding that most of these newly developed regions will witness enhanced CEB activity and have a trickle-down effect on ACL’s operations in the future.

Listed firms to benefit from 2014 budget
Several listed firms in the Colombo Stock Exchange are direct beneficiaries of the 2014 budget proposals, a presentation by Candor Equities Limited disclosed. Accordingly, increase in import CESS on certain products are expected to help listed firms such as Kotmale Holdings, Distilleries Company, Cargills Ceylon, Ceylon Cold Stores, CIC, Keells Food Products and Lion Brewery.

Exemption of VAT from LP gas distribution is likely to benefit Laugf Gas, while allowing the importation of tea for blending for high value added tea exports is most likely to benefit HVA and Renuka Agri. Candor Equities says the removal of price controls on poultry is expected to boost the margins of listed firm such as Bairaha Farms and Three Acre Farms.

Increase of CESS on imported Portland cement is expected to help - Tokyo Cement to compete with cheap imports.

Royal Ceramics, Lanka Floor tiles, ACL Cables, Kelani Cables, Lanka Aluminum, and Central Industries are also expected to benefit from budgetary measures adopted on construction materials.(news360.lk)
