I dont think that they will sell the company. As from what i heard they are expanding their businesses even in this sluggish market.

DSA is not a part of LOLC anymore since LOLC have their own securities firm. Capital Trust Securities comes under Capital Trust Holdings.

I Personally disagree with the ones who says CT is responsible for the current situation, CT may have played some Jilmarts, Why not many other brokers too but CT is the market leader according to Volumes and trades so there may be few jilmarts too..

We do not need to try to find reasons for the currents situation but we need to find the reason to blame ourselves for failing to understand the market cycle involving technicals and other influencing factors. Brokers may have failures, Weaknesses and their own agenda but ultimate responsibility lies with us to understand the market, So its better to find time to learn rather than to blame.

Note: Though I've lost extensive sum of my savings from my middles east job for about 14 years, I do not blame CT for being with them and losing my money - The fact is that I've lost because of my Greed and lack of knowledge, Time is high for everybody to understand this fact.

The present state of the C.S.E. is because the retail investors are selling a major portion of their portfolio and investing in bonds which offer an attractive return with minimum risk.

I partly agree with you..

I agree that we should be blamed fro our greediness hence losing our money.. However, a broker could've advised their clients not to go after hot-stocks and bun their hands.. Can everyone trade their own? If so why we need brokers? Why ppl stil prefer the support of an investment analyst?
CT being the biggest accounts holder could've done many things to save their clients.. We heard so many stories of wealth lost in this forum and I think, as a broker they'd have been the eyes and ears of their clients than being irresponsible. They has this watch list where u get 3 "Buy" signals its good to buy.. But I've seen instances these credible "BUY" signals go wrong where "SELL" signals go as BUYs.

Mostly ppl would believe if their broker ask them to buy XXXX as they trust the broker's advice. If goes haywire, the investor lose money, not the broker.. But where do we draw the line of "Trust" then?

Anyways, there's no point in blaming any broker or SEC or the masters of pump n dump for the loss.. We've been greedy and we paid the price. If we were a lil intelligent, we'd have saved our money not following the crowd.

I agree with you friend, we are responsible for our losses as well as for the gains, no point in putting the blame on others

Preset situation in SL stock market and losses uncured by individuals are inter connected. BUT two different things

For present situation, following parties are mainly responsible

1 Central Bank of Sri lanka.

2 SEC & CSE management  Appointed by this govt.
Not necessary to mention names

3 Brokers who supported manipulaters

For Individual losses the person concern is responsible

Big fools incurred Big loses viceversa

I hope they don't have an "Unbalanced Balance Sheet" for their clients sake.
