I have a big question. LCEM shot up after the war although they do not have any physical business. That was only based on speculations.. It picked from 8 odd and now itz some 30 odd.
HOWEVER

We do not see the same with hotel sector although there is more than enough evidence of future developments. There are refurbishments of hotels and expansion strategies but none of the hotel stocks are moving.. They went up around 5 months back but then again dropped to current levels.. PEG went up to 95 now itz @ 70s. CHOT wen up to 45 now itz 36, so is GHLL,MARA went to 17 and itz 13 now..

Can a learned investor comment on this.. All your responses are highly appreciated.. Thank you

In the market some are speculating some of their stock prices will go up in the future.

Some will specualate(forecast) some stock prices will go down. In a way it is a guessing game.

Even analyts do research on the future earnings. Nobody can predict correctly all the time.

Growth players and speuclators will try to pay premium for some stocks. So we are having higher P/E over 100 in hotel sector. It is same. Players are spcualting on cement companies and they are paying higher prices for their stocks.

Similariilry, some are expecting and speucalting growth in the IT sector in Sri-Lanka.

This is time to go aginst the crowd. We should go behind some stocks now. Some of your hotel stocks also will have run. Some stagnated stocks will go up in the coming weeks. They are more valuable than warants in the market. They don't have P/E ratio over 100.

Keep in mind some will buy and sell within the short period. They are passing risk to somebody. If you are long term investor try to buy at a bargain price.

In global market some sectors including tech(IT) sector will trade above the p/e ration of 150 when bull starts in those sectors.

Similaririly they also can come down more than other stocks when market drops.

We have seen tech rally in many countries. Srill we haven't seen tech rally in Sri-Lanka.

Sri-Lanka will have much potential in this sector in the coming years.
