SL stock if your selling sell below Rs.20 and i will buy another Rs.89000 worth of shares. I planned on investing Rs.800000 on TFIL and keep the Rs.200000 for something else. Good luck.

Aubrey Perera!
I am trying figure out TFIL, SHL, & Aubrey Perera Smile
Though I am not expert, I feel that you didn't turned to TFIL this much blindly, so either you must have very good infor about TFIL, but as per my knowledge which not a BIG one.... I think you have 20-25% chance of wining side, but since you expect only 24/- this is not a big expectation, so I like to say you might have 40% chance for it.

Regarding on SHL that seems so sure shot you selected...... it should b very worth to stay and hold SHL.... than TIFL, coz there could be larger possible margin from SHL than TFIL,

Anyway, anyhow, I am waiting to see your WIN from both counters  Wink

by the way, if you don't mind ..pls state which counters were in your mind to go with just before you selected TFIL and SHL ...... thats for my information and future...  study

When LIOC at 35, i thougt it is the peak. But it went to 40.

When TWOD at 3, i thougt its the peak, but it went to 6

When ECL at 7, i thougt its the peak, but now its at 15 and journey never ends.

So who knows you win despite general crowd thînking Smile

But remember to exit when your stop loss reaches. bcz capital is better than expecting return.

Sew, am a bit confused by your question. I saw several posts by you on CFL.

If you think CFL can merge based on CB requests, don't you think a similar ( but stronger earning) company in Cat B have the same potential to merge?

Think you should compare CFL vs TFIL Net assets and EPS as both of them are similar priced in market now.

You are right both fundamental are almost same. But not the place of established and shareholders. CFL has been established outside the capital same as other companies like Harischandra, Dsi, swadeshi etc. It is not easy to own those companies, who know whether CFL top shareholders are wealthy people from Chilaw and Negombo.

Hi ,

Investor 1984. I'm a genuine investor. it's my personality. I take risks Smile in fairness to me I don't think anything about my thread borders on promotion.. Even though I din't mention TFIL in my earlier thread. In my little black book I have noted it down and have other shares as well that I have noted to keep an eye on. . But for discussion I didn't want to state all the shares I was interested in. KDDND Yes buddy I hope for the best as well. each and every one of us wants to gain from market , doesn't matter if it's bull or bear. I have mentioned my earlier preferences on another thread mate. After looking atll options I threw my lot behind TFIL and SHL. Only time will tell if I made the correct decision .

Good luck everyone and thank you for the encouragement and comments I appreciate it very much.

Yes. This is where one should be very very careful, even if you are buying a very strong counter. This decision is vital for traders as well as investors. The entry point? If its the peek, then, you have to wait a longer period to reap. Its far better to keep the money with you than buying a good counter at peek.

Lot of non banking finance companies reported good results earlier also. TFIL,SDB,SFCL,VFIN..ect ..For various reasons they were not moved up that time.Suddenly with the merger hype, misrepresenting it as Acquisition and takeover this was sent up. Now they talk about the performance.

I feel some people strucked in the top 20 list of TFIL, used this opportunity to exit stating all acquisition stories.

Happy with outcome, the thing is , as much as I seem to have bought at peak, sometimes it could have shot up to around 23 or 24, so didn't want to miss out as well. I will be happy if it settles at around 18.00 even as I can hold on. but if all this talk about merger plans come through and it is pushed up I will be jumping for joy.

I think it works both ways sometimes and you need a little bit of luck as well. But looking at it now I agree 100% that I could have waited and bought at lower range, but when I bought at that time I expected it to move up further.

How is everyone else doing at the moment. SHL I'm on profit Smile

I too have few experiences of buying at TOP...
but after that time..... I can't understand how I decided to catch it......
but that circumstances tend us to do so......
its OK if you did it with good INFOR....
I feel that you will NOT have to wait so long......
anyway before the merging surely they will give DIVIDEND to the original holders... Laughing

Buying in separate bundles could have been an option for you. It gives you a chance to make any changes to your plan.
