St.Anthony's Industries group owned Orion City is maintaining Sri Lanka's largest IT Park offering outsourcing services for many companies including Sri Lankan Airlines, Hello, Virtusa etc at No. 752, Dr, Danister de Silva Mawatha, Colombo 09.
According to many the infrastructure at Orion City has been the key attraction for IT/BPO industries to come to Orion City and specially the low rental charge.
The area spans in 14 acres 3 roods and 16.5 perches.
According to insiders Virtusa contributes a significant income to the Orion City.
Virtusa has relocated its all operations in Sri Lanka to Orion City.
And from Virtusa alone Orion City is said to be earning over Rs. 500 million a year.
According to officials from Orion City they are supposed to be charging rental of per cubicle for a day from Virtusa instead of per square feet rental charge.
According Virtusa is said to be having over 2800 cubicles at Orion City and paying nearly Rs.500 to Rs.1,000 for a cubicle for a day.
That means
Income for Orion City from Virtusa alone 365x2800x500 = Rs. 511,000,000 (511 million)
That is nearly 1/3 of income of Overseas Realty (World Trade Centre - WTC), and for many Ovrseas Realty rentals are higher. WTC rental revenue for last year only nearly Rs. 1.58 billion.
But if Orion City is charging Rs.1000 per cubicle that means company earns Rs.1.022 billion from Virtusa alone.
