No dividend pay counters move up near dividend dates or after the declaration but comes down on XD.

TAFL has been accumulating several years of losses and they cannot pay a dividend now (even if they have good results)
So for a run a sector run needs to be initiated.

U simplyfy your calculations line by line and I wil try looking at it then. The way u put it - its total gibberish to me.

TAFL Has said they don’t want to declare dividends as they are planning capital investment in the year 2014.

Dividends

As the Company is planning for capital investment in
the year 2014, the Board of Directors believe it would
be prudent to refrain from declaring a dividend for the
financial year ended 31 December 2013. We sincerely trust
that our shareholders will understand and appreciate our
decision which we believe would help the Company to
better its performance in the coming year.

Positioned for Planned Progress

Recent developments in the infrastructure facilities in
the hotel sectors have resulted in a boom in the tourism
industry. This has positively contributed to the hospitality
sectors and enhanced the GDP. We were able to foresee
these trends and noted there is potential for expansion in
the poultry industry. We are geared to meet these demands
and will endeavour to capitalise on the opportunities.
Being the market leader we intend to maintain our
position by enhancing our strengths. Noting the profits
made in our Commercial Broiler Farming we will continue
to make improvements. We expanded our broiler capacity
in keeping with the market for our product. We will
continue to invest in Environmentally Controlled Broiler
Houses to increase our total capacity and improve the
quality of the Live Broiler. This is a continuous and ongoing
process. In order to maintain our market leader position
in the breeder segment we will continue to upgrade our
hatcheries with state-of-the-art equipment which will give
us the necessary edge to keep ahead of the competition.
We are confident that with these improvements and
modifications TAF can look forward to a very progressive
and profitable future.

According to above description are they market leader for entire industry or market leader for one area of poultry? Because BFL also has large poultry farms. They are going to start animal feed factory. Is it a good decision to buy BFL instead of TAFL? Cheers.

Why did you buy this stock? Did you have special reason? If your reason is still there You will reward in the future. Do you have faith on it and do you see good prospects? Then it is nothing to worry much. If long term fundamentals are going to become weak and if you don’t see any tourists, hotels or infrastructure buildings and people are not eating poultry then you will have to worry. If you like some stocks keep an eye on it. Study this counter in the coming quarters and years. Then you can get good idea. All the best!

Hopes, dreams and luck are part of this game.people who burnt their hand in CHICKEN RUN, hate these shares and people who got paid handsomely love these shares.
If someone says TAFL is a bad buy at Rs 40 that can not be base on fundamental calculations.
paying dividend does not make a share to rise from 40 to 70 anyway ,if that the case JINS should be trading around 50 bu now.
Market leader in breeder farming and 200+ acres of free hold land and resent cash generation from their business will help this company to grow to next level.

sector wise PER basis 22.1 on 50% discount 11.05 *7.2(eps)=79.56
net asset basis 4.9 on  50% discount  2.45 *39.01(navps)=95.57

then u can understand......previous calculation based on the company....this calculation based on whole group....

In poultry group don’t forget GRAN as well. If TAFL expand their export market further it could become one of the best performing companies in Sri-Lanka. Both BFL and TAFL have plan for further investments. We cannot expect rapid run in commodities such as Oil, gold and grains in the coming years. Global easy money speculated too much on above commodities and as results their prices went up rapidly in 2011 and 2012. This will slow down in the coming years. Therefore we can expect lower grain prices in the coming years. Arrival of tourist target for 2016 is more than 2.2 million almost doubles the amount of now. Therefore hotels will create more demand for not only egg and chicken but also for fish, vegetable, fruits and hot beverages (coffee and tea). In addition indirectly transportation too will benefit. In short in a bull market many sectors, groups and stocks such as food and beverages, banking, manufacturing, plantations, motor and hotels etc will have uptrend. Any one has idea about implementation of poultry budget proposal for poultry sector including lower cooperate tax for agri companies including poultry from the current financial year?.

Do your own study before buying and selling stocks. Do not depend on others.
