Dr. Godahewa’s application for the post was received by the PIM and the Board of Management of the Institute will make the selection without conducting an interview, an official said. The director’s post is a full time job and Dr. Godahewa will have to quit his current position as SEC Chairman to take up the post if he is selected, he added, noting that the application was under ‘serious’ consideration hinting that he might get the job using his high contacts. Business Times reliably learns that 12 applications had been received by the institute and senior professors and lecturers were among the applicants.
