The following will be usefull at the current market context.

Most say market players are pumping & dumping. But we need to understand without any involvement of stronger party no stock will move up though companies perform well in [b]our market. Because CSE goes with a trend & rally. So we have to be intelligent when taking decisions.

So as investors get in at pumping level (attentive price- low P/E & price below NAV) & exit at prices reach at industry P/E or above NAV (if u bought at below NAV).

DAY TRADING- if u bought a stock today get out today itself or next day morning at a profit or loss. Don't hold on to it (stick to the policy).

When investing have a cut loss policy. When market falls it will not be as rosy as now.
Cut stocks say @ 20% loss level. Don't hesitate. You will save your capital at least.

Please note MARKET P/E approaching 20.

We are in the emerging market category. So it normally is around 15-17 levels & developed markets are also normally below 20 though currently some are above 20.

Therefor in global language our market is over priced overall (our main stock JKH currently trading @ annualized P/E of around 30)So be careful. But clearly there are lot of under valued stocks.

Therefor my advice is when investing. Stick to a policy. So you will earn more & can reduce the downside risk (reducing losses).

P/E means P/E ratio

which is .

market price of a share / EPS

m/price=15 , EPS=2

P/E= 7.5.

This is the base in trading in equities. P/E will be calculated in company terms, industry terms & market terms.

Price Earning ratio can be ellaborated as; Market Price divided by Earnings per Share.

Overall sector wise PE averages can be extracted from research divisions of each broker.

You may refer the banking, finance, insurance sector analysis done by us few weeks back. In that analysis, it was mentioned that ESL, SDB, NDB, ALLI, VFIN, CDB, SAMP, PLC, COCR, CFVF, ARPI were attractive for the price prevailed. Most of these were increased during the last month.
