For me there is potential on this.

I am going to put my key in to recharge the battery.

There is a news that the share transfer from Hemas to the new owners before end of this week. Is it worth to buy this share at this juncture?

I am considering the following facts.
Positive facts
Why NDB lead consortium buying at Rs17.50 .
Exposure to renewable energy.
Possible renewal of agreements with CEB.
Downturn of world oil prices may bring the cost down.Especially new consortium may sign a hedge deal with oil suppliers.

Negative
Non renewal of power purchase agreements with CEB
Comparatively high exposure to fossil based fuel.

And any thing to add....

I think rather going with HPWR, VPEL will give better returns with current performance. HPWR has posted losses in last 2 quarters. Their DY has dropped gradually. However it is below the book value.

Considering following facts I am recommending VPEL for secured returns under current performance P&E sector.

1.higher DY - Rs 0.5 last year and best dividends payer below Rs 10/- share

2.strong earnings growth - Rs 0.395Mn (Q2-2014) vs Rs 0.271Mn (Q2-2013)

3. Highest rainfall in Erathna area. High probability to post greater returns in Q3 - 2014

4. Under valued with current valuations ( Annualized EPS Rs 0.88)

Happy Investments.

I think the last 2 qtr profits came down because Hemas didn't renew their contracts (may be because they were disposing it and allowing the new owners free space to have their say in the contract). Once they start on a new contract they will improve on their revenue.

I have not looked at this share earlier. But today I just checked its quarterly report. It's making losses.

Because of mandatory offer will it go up or are there any other reasons for it? RPPA, Gainer, others please comment.

I'm speculating on 2 possibilities,

The new management might pay as massive dividend from the cash receipt from disposal of Heladanavi to Hemas Holdings at least 2/= share.

Other possibility would be that the management deciding to purchase the PAP with the Mandatory offer.

Both will open up upward trend to HPWR.
