I remember it used to rain heavily during Vesak poya days. At the moment it's hot and humid. It used to rain in north, east and central a few months back. I heard that the weather was so unnatural, and every time the farmers started planting they got the rain at the wrong time destroying whatever they did.

According to Ada Derana correspondent in the area the water level of the Maussakele Reservoir has dropped from 50 feet to 29 while Castlereagh’s 60 feet water level has descended to 47. This has also gravely affected the power generation at Hydro Power Stations such as Lakshapana, Canyon and Wimalasurendra.
