SAMP should run soon.
should go pass 300 this time.
Forming nice cup handle.

235 is the mark.

If very very lucky could go down to 225 (to collect). but very doubtful.

Then, it should run like a Dinosaur train.

No doubt, SAMP is one of heavy weighted shares in the market. Mostly attracted by foreigners. High price level hing domestic buying power as many attach to low priced counters. However, with end of financial year, SAMP as undervalued one, will shot up over Rs.300/=..I am wondering of delayed dividend declaration........

Don't ask for time frames. SAMP is the most under valued bank in the banking sector. It has it's own identity.

Super STOCK. Very Happy

yes true... SAMP is not a trading stock.if you need your money to put in a good share and forget, that is SAMP. That's why foreigners love it.
Since it is undervalue, I also dont think it will take long time to appreciate from current levels.

NDB has posted a healthy performance reflecting an increase in NIM. It is trading almost 10 times of their earnings. Analyzing the balance sheet I noticed debt securities and other borrowed funds to fund loans. Further NDB asset quality is on a mixed note(high portion on project funding and unsecured lending on professional segment).

DFCC has done well. But noticeably DFCC net interest income has decreased substantially and with other investment/trading income they have performed well. Also I have noticed Rs 30bn reserves to fund loans in balance sheet.

Analyzing these,We have to invest shares with high growth potential and undervalued in current valuations. Considering the performance of major banks HNB and SAMP has a high potential to showcase strong performance in future. Specially SAMP with high level of liquidity in BS. Further newly formed strategic management unit is in business to growth its Super branch concept which has revolutionized the branch banking in industry. However HNB is correctly priced for their earnings. But it has growth opportunities with excess liquidity.

Further SAMP has reduced its exposure in pawning from 23% to 13% which extended only for short term lending to minimize the risk in gold price changes. They have fully absorbed the losses of lending in gold as at date.

Mean time COMB with 2 times asset portfolio of SAMP has to grow its deposit base or should come up with debenture to fund its capital base and to grow loans. Further COMB is trading over 14 times - PE.

Hence considering improvement in NAV and EPS annualized (Rs 29.3) SAMP is undervalued(PE - 8.2 times). Minimum value must be Rs 293/-.Further with above facts the bank is on safe hands and right direction to grow its asset base to show impressive results in future compared to other major banks.

Most importantly SAMP gave ESOP and most of them are sold at current prices. Hence counter remains around Rs 230/- and which is a bargain price.

Happy Investments

Gd u replied RPPA Very Happy I wanted to know whether it's ST or MT investment. I'm not a long term investor. As I don't want to face opportunity cost bcz I have got caught to that in the past with few other stocks.

Thanks Octopus for your valuable data.

@ Siva08 - Though you are not a LT investor. SAMP must payback in MT for sure due to NAV and EPS. Future prospect are extremely high with major structural changes. However the counter would have gained earlier except for these ESOP seller.

Apart from above I am bullish on UBC and Chilaw in short run.

Why I say UBC

UBC undergone major changes in management and ownership. Considering the current buying pattern counter should appreciate more than Rs 35/-.But valuations are poor. But hearing from hot seats it seems to be that bank is in aggressive growth initiatives with US investment.

Why I say Chilaw

CFL was bought by Richard Peiris Co,82% is held with Dr @ Rs 26.50. Another substantial portion is bought through mandatory offer. Therefore a small portion remains in the market creating it an ill-liquid counter. Don't forget what happened with REXP. Same scenario. Therefore there is a high potential.

Do your own intelligence before entering specs. However SAMP is a bargain counter in B&F sector.

Happy Investments
