Dear friends,

I am 43 years old, I know every major episode of our political history. My best 5 years in my life as a citizen as last 5 years.

1971- I was born, My parents have experienced the effects of 71 resurgence

1977- Saw the govt change in my village UNP goons burnt houses of many Slfpers.

1983 - I saw to my own eyes the black July, which provided prabakaran suicide carders non stop. UNP JR was in power he let the carnage to go on .

1983- 2009- War which ruled my younger hood

1989- Saw UNP -JVP inhuman valance. 2 of my village friends got killed, I had to hide in a mahaweli camp since Village UNPers had given our names to Army because one of my uncles was a SFP MP in 1971-77.

MY ALs: I only mange to school 6 months out of two years , My school was a renetion camp for JVP suspects.

1990-1993- I had to wait 3 years to enter the university because of the back log. I lost good 3 years in my career .

1990-2005: I saw the brutal LTTE terrorism , I lost 5 of my village and school friends who were in the army. 2 got disabled.

2002- 2004 saw the greatest betrayal in the form of cease fire agreement.

2005-2009- I witnessed the most successful counter terrorism war of the world.
I followed how our brave soldiers spend days in the jungle to launch attacks and how many gave their lives for the country and for us.

2009- 2015- I saw how my beloved country came out of ashes and started leaping out as a break out nation.

2015- We achieved macro economical success that we dreamed and any govt would be proud of.
I saw economic distribution, how other provinces started to contribute, I aw how the education system expanded beyond popular schools, Country best results from Matarta and Jaffna.

I saw how col shanty people get apartments. I saw the economic benefits in agricultural areas, they have at least a 3W in their houses.

I witnessed multipronged infra development with highest level of project management. I witnessed the success of Hambanthota harbor. (1 ship per day)

Dear friends ,
what I have written is not a fabrication,
would I ever vote for a JVP,UNP, TNA , collation?
would I ever hand over this country ecnomy to MS who is a Gramasevaka and a second level minister/ Would I ever give this country back to Chandrika and Ranil?

would I ever follow Champika Ranawka- who has become a desperate liar being a Buddhist?

I am not a MR follower y blind faith. My engineer profession has taught me to select the best option out of alternatives. I listen to my heart, I am for my country.

I will be relieved when I vote to MR on 8th. my duty to my country which made me a good citizen .

Good historical details. All our past leaders have big blunders.

Some other countries like Malaysia, Singapore S Korea have developed in leaps and bounds within last 30 years.

As an Engineer I know that many of the projects now going on are unsolicited projects. Which means they have not been through a competitive bidding process. Which has increased the project cost drastically in many cases.

Other point of concern is many projects have not gone through a unbiased feasibility study. Often government officials are directly or indirectly pressurized to prepare feasibility studies to justify a political decision that has already been made. Matthala airport would have been more productive if built at a suitable location well away from a migratory route of birds.

Intimidation of government officials culminated by firing the CJ and imprisoning the past Commander of Army.

These have raised concerns of many citizens. And BTW Lincoln has done many oddjobs before he became president. So being a Grama sewaka doesn't automatically disqualifies the man.

Noted and if so why MR is doing cheap politics.
-Fake ballot paper distribution.
-Mada advertisements for opposition almost all the channels.
-Direct attack on opposition stages.
-Recently telecast advertisement about FB too (Funny)

These clearly show that his fear about the voters. If MR done good things for the people then he should have avoided these type of cheap propaganda instead he could have done advertisement by using his good performances

Thanks Dhehan for your reply. This is an election where both parties have used various tactics, I could give many examples from the other camp too. Anyway I have mentioned that I am not a MR follower with a blind faith to justify all what he does, My decision is based on comparison and Logic which is approved by my heart.

This is almost similar to my life... I was born in 1972 ...If I want to add something I would say I sat for only 6 subjects for GCE O/L thanx to Ranil Wikcramasinghas education reforms.. and we were the only batch of victim of his reforms...

Now only we are living a peaceful life...

I wonder why some are struggling hard to inherit the life we had to our CHILDREN..

I never had a problem about voting usully I decided it before the election

To be very frank so far i have not decided whom to vote

Most of the thing Mr Krishantha say is correct But this is basically family rule with few people who help to make money. They do not consider even educated qualified people with good service record who help and work hard in 2005 and 2010

So far they have not said they will not repeat it again

Thanks and glad to hear many comments from a set of like minded people.

I could not elaborate  the experience of Chandrika period of inaction. Only positive thing is the capturing of Jaffna but at a huge cost.

I remember the debate whether to build Norochchole or not dragged for many years without a decision .
MR did it, Yes there were issues, But as a leader MR make decisions and has used EP for the benefit of the country.
Basically we don't have an issue of electricity now , I remember power cuts when Karu was the power minister in 2002-2004.

I have to drive 150 Km to cast vote tomorrow , normally 4-5 hours , I hope with the northern  highway in progress I will be able to go home in less than two hours. It is not a dream anymore under MR.

I have negative comments also about MR regime  but positives are quite high, so my decision is both rational and emotional .
