The people of this country exercised their democratic right and managed to change a regime which was getting out of hand without an armed revolution, bloodshed or an Arab spring. Today we have a government with a majority of whom were in the opposition for well close to 15 years and members from all progressive political parties and trying to execute a 100 day plan to relieve the sufferings of the masses. We too can contribute towards this end with constructive criticism as many of us have remained in the side lines but have gained valuable experience in our working environments.
The common front in power includes members from all recognised political parties in this country SLFP, UNP, JVP, JHU, SLMC, TNA and few others. There is no opportunity as at now to draw and implement a National Policy on Economy, Health, Education, Development, Racial and Religious Harmony, etc.etc to take our country towards the 21st century with the contribution of all political parties. Sri Lanka is one of the few countries in the world without any national policies and following ad-hoc policies of a few individuals resulting in this chaotic unstable economy.
The government in their rush to implement the 100 day plan may overlook many important issues, act in contrary to progressive moves and make few blunders in faith not seen by them but noticed by outsiders sitting on side lines. We could invite our members to make CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM on the news dished out in the media based on our knowledge, expertise and experience such as the issue of SEC Chairman. Any unnecessary or prejudiced comments not being in the interest of the country such as the verbal diarrhea of weerawansa in parliament can be edited by the administrator or some authority. This would give us an avenue to contribute to the development of our country while using her services such as SEC and Banks for our benefit. Once our forum comes out with full blast with many ideas somebody in our midst with political connections can inform the Prime Minister, Ravi Karunanayake, Harsha de Silva, Eran Wickramaratne etc to visit our forum.
