Due to the ever increasing charges and complaints made at the Bribery Commission, the Govt. has decided to motivate the department with powers to ensure that they are self sustaining and not increasing the administrative costs.
Some of the measures taken are as follows:
- Motivate the investigating officers by letting them use confiscated vehicles for their investigations
- give them 5% of the fine if found guilty.
- increase the staff 10 times to meet the increased inquiries
- provide a reporting system for people to complain without repurcussions
- have one bribery office in each major district
- provide good Lawyers to the department
- provide a insurance cover for the employees safety
- rotate the bribery commissioner and investigating officers every three years.
