Who's your broker? The entire market is down right now, so everybody here has most likely lost a couple of million that they should gain back once (and if) the market picks up.

If you're using the stock market for speculative day-on-day gains, then you're just a gambler. And if you need that money back quickly, you might as well head over to a Casino. Focus on making a long term capital gain and you'll be a much happier investor.

Since you really do want to learn about the stock market however use www.investopedia.com and especially http://www.investopedia.com/university/stockpicking/

very sad to hear bro loss the hard earned money will hurts a lot Crying or Very sad but expect to earn them in a short term may lead to disastrous losses be calm and play smart some people may tell speculation(higher return in a short term) equal to gambling but i dont agree with them there r smart people earning more than 100% a year in a sustainable manner i am also trying to get super performance from stock .Allocate more time for learning and invest in a scientific manner
good luck Very Happy Very Happy

What my advise is ,first you stop to trust brokers while u must listen them and filter some thing. It seems you dont have basic knowledge on securities investments so as you are guided for a 1 million loss. Some times i feel that you baught shares on credit. When market falls u have to pump some cash to keep margin limit or to sell. How ever what ever happend it happend now.So dont repeat mistakes. U gather more knowledge about companies, their financials, future plans after u get an investment decision . There are hundreds of accounting ratios to analyse a company. So you have to identify value stocks rather than trusting brokers or following  this forum blindly. This forum is full of ordinary peoples ideas. Mostly it creates a crowd behaviour only. My concern is The important thing is to enter the market in correct time. Buy when. others are selling. Sell when others are buying. Buy in low and sell in high. I sold my most of the shares at the moment  and wait to buy on my desired prices. DELETED Finally the CODE is simple which is invest 20 percet of your total cash in stocks.

AEL is a lost cause at this point. You have probably lost a bulk of that 1 million because of AEL. Hold on to the others and check their 4Q2014 reports as well as their annual reports. You'll most likely be holding on to these until the parliamentary elections in mid-April.

I myself have lost around 3 Mn. This is a hard place surely. I have to tell u there is no quick way to recover money. Be very patient and study very well. Emotional trading is the worst thing to do.

One thing you should learn is stop-loss selling. Sell very quickly if the trade is going against you. You should also start small. Big trades makes us greedy/scares us to make the wrong decisions.

yes .. do't believe broker or advisor , I lost lot when I entered in the market.
I deposit money and told my advisor do some trading for me ..finally lost lot of money.

brokers never like to make money for you .. they want to do more transaction to make commission for them

any how still you have good value for stock so sell those and study and buy good fundamental which is still in low price ,and earning company then you can easily recover your money

remember two important thinks
1. stop loss ( don't wait long to recover)
2. profit taking ( Don't be greedy)
otherwise we will loose always
