VPEL. You will get hefty dividends in addition to capital gains. Bartleet Religare Securities constantly recommend it too, calling it their top pick in the CSE. They value it at around Rs.13.60. I value it 10+.

Disc: I hold 500,000 shares.

Other option is to identify sectors which both governments want to give priority such as Food and Agriculture, Plantations and tourism. Those are backbones of the Sri-Lankan economy. Then another great opportunity could arise if they form national government for the next two years. Another great option is to identify great value companies which are going to have growth irrespective of economic and political cycles.

It is also time to keep more food and hot beverages in our plate to reap benefit from remaining stages of current major uptrend. It addition, it is wise to look for investors/traders are getting in stocks and not getting out stocks.

Have you noticed after sometimes there was some improvement in this quarter? Now we are seeing gradual fall in feed prices. Even GRAN had good improvement. In addition we need to study their growth in the local market and export market in the coming quarters and years. Those who follow technical analysis will have some idea about short term trend. Thanks to growing tourism sector and increased middle class populations plus export market definitely will create demand for eggs and chickens in the coming years. I noticed it is hovering around Rs.120/- now. First we should watch their base building. When we see increased activity together with uptrend then it is time to think about stock that we like. However value investors can buy stocks on value as long as they see growth.

Did you also notice foreign and local investors including institutional investors are getting in few stocks/sectors during last one to three quarters and increasing their positions?

It is also wise to indentify less appreciated stocks during last 12 months which are having their intermediate trend up. In addition, these companies should have some value plus earning potential. There are emerging companies as well. Many industries such as transportation, airlines, poultry, plantations, tiles, cables and other production oriented companies should reap benefit of lower oil, gas and other raw materials prices in the global and domestic market in the coming quarters.

Current period is one of the best periods to identify future winners. It is also the best period to readjust portfolio to get benefit from next wave in the current major uptrend.

In the next stages of current major uptrend new sectors and stocks should outperform others. At different stages of bull market different stocks and sectors will outperform the market. Short term traders will have less opportunity in a short term frozen or side way market. On the other hand value investors and sophisticated market players will get great opportunity in stocks that they  missed.

Yes.100% agree with you....

Due to temporary political uncertainty we can see more opportunities.

Most important thing is identifying future winning Stock / Sectors...

So now is the time to search for them...
