If Present Government can reappoint people appointed by the previous government such as Gamini Wikramasinghe, Indrani Sugathadasa and Tilak Karunaratne why not Nalaka Godaheva, Is it personal animosity or fear of successful persons.

I have met Dr Godahewa on a few occasions and have read all his speeches at SEC.  I do not think he is the type who will go behind politicians asking for positions.Unless some one go and  ask for him no one in current government will remember him. I have read on his Facebook how he was unexpectedly called by Mahinda Rajapakse Government to be SLIC competent authority because some one recommended him to president. Because of his good performance he was then moved to tourist board and SEC. Mahinda Rajapakse was smart to use his talents. Ranil was a real fool to remove him and bring Tilak who not a patch for Godahewa.  If this government also asks for his services he will do a good job like he did for previous government. We must tell government higher-ups if anyone has access.

Wonderful. Start a online petition. This is a great idea. I have seen it for for animal, environmental, political and many causes. This would attract attention.

But hear out my opinion, I personally don't know Tilak, and I have no grudge. And if Godahewa was removed, so be it. But they should appoint a young ambitious individual, who has knowledge and expertise regarding financial markets. That is what I request for, some one who is genuinely qualified, confident and ambitious who had a plan like Godahewa. If there is no one, bring Godahewa back.

CSE and SEC should be politically motivated, nor it should allow corruption and bad governance. But honestly there is no 100% corruption fee and dirty stuff happens.

Do you know why all previous and current SEC regulators are over 65 except dr Nalaka was in his 40's. SEC chairmanship is not a paying job unlike BOI chairmanship. It has no perks like Sri Lankan airlines. It has no deals like Telecom, CEB  or Petroleum.  I read once that SEC chairman gets Rs 75,000 allowance from which he has to even cover cost of petrol. So it is not easy to find a young qualified professional like to make that sacrifice . A lot of people say they want to contribute to country. But they never do at their cost. They ask for for a salary and other perks when asked to join government.  Let me give an example. When piyadasa kudabalage became head Sri Lanka Insurance he has asked his friend Gamini senerath to pay him a salary instead of government allowance. He was then paid Rs 1.8 Mn.  Now Bansa jaya, brother in law of Ravi Karunanayaka has come for same job . His salary according to some one at Treasury is Rs 2.1 Mn. Sri Lankan Chairman Nishantha also fixed a big salary for himself. But not all government chairpersons get salaries. Many do honorary jobs.  So who wants to be SEC regulator for Rs 75,000/- unless it is for prestigue like 78 years old  Tilak who is now retired and has nothing else to do. He is there for personal glory. Our people never appreciated what good doctor was doing for the industry.
