smallville wrote:If the price is now 77, if you calculate the price level which is expected after the rights are converted to shares;
it would be like (77+38*2)/3 = Rs. 51/- for a person purchased ALUF before XR date.
So if you bought 1000 shares @ 77 your total cost is
77*1000 = 77000
38*2000 = 76000
total = Rs. 153000 for 3000 shares. Which is 51..
But for a person who bought ALUF.R @ 15 his convertion rate for a share is (15+38) = 53
So 3000 shares; 3000*(15+38) = Rs. 159000
So after rights if share could trade @ 51-53 range, there's not much of a advantage..
But if you bought this below 73, converting rights would make sense

I dont get u Small.... Buying ALUF.N now wont make us entitle for the rights... so whats this benchmark u putting @ 73???? how come the investment become worth if someone buys under 73???? no one has go that high, no need to buy N , just buy R @ 15 & convert it paying 38 . maximum is 53 . what is this ur calculation??? it make no sense me.

It makes no sense to you cuz u didnt read between lines mate.. Was I talking abt buyin ALUF now??? Look at the below last line..smallville wrote:

I was telling IF YOU BOUGHT (means u did already buy it) below 73, and if u COVERT THE RIGHTS too, ur overall cost would be below 51 so it would allow u to sell ur shares at a profit now..
Reading something properly still makes sense

In your hypothetical situation u dont have to covert rights and sell voting to gain profit, u can just sell the Voting share and u can also trade the right, mind u right trade @ 50 on first day. Small u may be smart, but u dont have create hypothetical situation when actual facts are figures are their mate.
retailinvest wrote:Guys there was no way to buy ALUF.N in the 70s with rights. It was trading at 130s the day before XR came to 70s only after it XR.
Actualy i was lucky with this one i bought 8000 shares of N at 135 and sold them at 88 XR. And i sold my 16000 rights at ranging from 42 to 51 (average 46)

Obviously you can sell shares and rights both, provided that u were lucky enuf to catch this at a lower price and u know how to calculate the overall cost involved in the case.. Well everything should not be spoonfed know.. once an example is provided ppl should be able to calculate their own scenario and make decisions..
There's no hypothetical siutation mate.... Just an example what if you've bought shares @ 77..

SO if this was trading at 130s before XD;
The expected XR price was - (130+38*2)/3 = 68.7
taking you example as the base;
Initial Investment = 1080000
Share Selling price = 704000
Rights Selling Price = 736000
Total Sales = 1440000
Profit = 360000
So if this is now trading at 70+ the price has already adjusted and unless this goes up more listening of new shares may bring the N price down after listening.. anyways this is CSE, so anything is possible..
retailinvest wrote:Total cost = 8000 * 135 = 1,080,000
Total revenue = (8000 * 88) from N + (16,000 * 46) from rights = 1,440,000
So profit is Rs. 360,000.
Bdw none of us have answred the initial question of the poster. Mate you need to pay the money due on your rights (38 * number of rights u have) to your BROKER ( if u purchased rights from the market) on or before 13 the Sep.
