exposure towards rubber is reducing every year n they managed to expand there plam plantation. They managed to break even from there tea business, limited there rubber losses n maximized there plam business profitability.

So is it worth to buy @ these levels?
Will it make a move due to released quarterly results?

I think it's worth to buy at these levels n it's well managed by aitken spence group. I was collecting last few days around 20-21.50 levels. I'm confortable at these levels n expecting 75cents dividend also.

So far when compare with other plantations TPL, ELPL and BOPL have done well. Despite having plam oil profit of WATA marginally down similar to BOPL.

Even ELPL profitablity is marginally down also. Both watawala n ELPL profitability came down only marginally because of there growing Palm plantation business. If they only had tea n rubber like Kota they would have had a loss making financial yr.

Palm oil is a really profitable business. Its a good decision to diversify the business from Rubber,Tea to palm.oil. well managed Balangoda has a quarterly loss around 200 million rupees mainly from tea and rubber. So traditional plantation like tea & rubber have less margin but high competition. Businesses like palm, is more chance to grow as high demand as well as less competition.

With rubber industry always remember there's a correlation with crude oil prices. When crude prices are down synthetic rubber is cheaper for rubber base manufacturing companies. So demand for natural rubber comes down. near future I don't see good prospect for rubber industry but 2-3 yrs tym it might change.
With plantation shares u can't go with a short term target, it's a waiting game u have to play.

TPL is the best. HOPL and ELPL also made some profits. BOPL and WATA profit has come down marginally in this quarter. When compare with other companies it is not that bad.  Now BOPL has more value than WATA. Among high grown tea category both TPL and BOPL have outperformed others. MPRH has more value than BOPL, WATA and SUN now. When tea prices go up tea stocks will go up strongly. Initially finance sector was out of favour. Then it became one of the favourite groups. Poultry group was out of favour in 2013 and 2014. Now it is going to be next favourite group due to strong outlook. After that it is going to be tea group. Not palm or rubber group. Now it is kind of out of favour. Unlike those days quality tea has bright future. Just like other industries we could see strong turnaround in the tea group. It is matter of time. Tea prices will not stay low for ever. Still we haven’t seen greatest bull market for tea. Eventually just like coffee bull market, we should see tea bull market next. Good luck!
