I think gold is ok as gold prices are in a little drop at the moment and there are lot of recommendations to enter into gold in these levels. How ever as sri lankans ,we can get more benifit with rupee depreciation too. More liquidity on hand even pawning centres around the Island. It can be used as ornaments as well as easily gifted.

I think this time around our companies are well hedged.Buying land or even a vehicle on cash will be fine.I don't expect vehicle prices to drop more. This November after elections budget wont be a friendly one.

It looks gold price is going to increase day by day. There will be a good support level in these price levels.

But according some industry analysts, it is very scary. Some are predicting $600 for Gold by 2016. We have to wait and see. I am sill bearish on gold. We should see beginning of interest rate hike in the USA towards end of this year or in 2016. Then, there will be further pressure on commodities link to derivatives. Gold is not exception. I am bullish on USD, undervalued stocks, frontier market currencies and emerging commodities. I am bearish on some currencies especially on NZD, AUD and CAD. Still current scenario supports stocks. As an asset class, undervalued stocks will have bright future.

It is apparent globally that metal prices keeps a close link with energy cost. As fuel prices falling that curbs the inflation drive the investors for gold reserves. Some argue drop in greenback had caused the higher prices of oil & gold indicating complicated inverse relationship among oil, gold & US$.

Amid increasing physical demand some analysts in Australia & New Zealand whose economies mainly depend on metal business forecast godd may reach to $1429 by end of 2016.

Now The IMF has urged the Federal Reserve to put off raising short-term interest rates until next year. For one thing, the Fed is expected to increase rates only gradually.  Therefore, we can expect gradual fall in gold prices from 2016 onwards. We should see some volatility in gold prices in 2015.

Gold Prices May Plunge to 20,500 on US Central Bank Rate Hike

We have to wait and see. Some predictions may become true and some not.

Undervalued Stocks and emerging commodities will become more valuable than gold now. Gold can go to $500. Some are expecting it to go below that level as well.

It’s not a commodity that has much fundamental demand. People use it for jewellery. There’s not specific end use for it.

You're right Mr. V.P,
If we compare U.V.S with G, we can identify U.V.Stocks are more valuable than G & has a poor risk!
