Yesterday also appointed new ministers. This seems sign for Parliament will not Dissolved soon. Seems President wanted to give priority to pass 20th Amendment.

Correct, Yahapalanaya has given birth to 4 new deputies. So they have to crawl & play for a while!

Always there had been short term issues such as political issues, currency issues, economic issues, interest rates issues  and volatility in commodity prices etc globally. Their governments changed so many times within the short period.  Still there had been bull markets in those countries. For example countries such as Pakistan, Japan and Thailand had political issues. Later both Pakistan and Japan had some of the great bull markets in the world. Then there were demands for Greek bond and stocks despites their economic issues. These types of short term issues create opportunity in bull markets. Current issue is forming a government. Definitely there will be government after election. We should not forget still there is some control under presidential system. We are going to see mix of presidential and parliament system in Sri-Lanka.

According to the speaker (Independent politician in the parliament), both sides fear dissolution.

Did anybody think that 19th amendment will pass? Everybody agreed and voted 100%. I think same will repeat for 20th amendment.

This is the time to identify future winners in the market. Investors should identify great businesses in the market not stocks. Current stock prices are not that important. Future growth, earnings and stocks prices are more important. Some loss making companies will make profit during second half or by 2016. So there are all types of opportunities  in this market.

well said ValuePick true, you have to identify best businesses via 'How existing Powerful Regime' or the politicians become 'Economic Pillars' favoring which industries and sectors of an economy.Based on that you can pick stocks and become a winner!

Currently I am studying loss making tea companies and few banking and finance companies specially MBSL and MPRH. If MPRH come down to below Rs.20 and MBSL around 12, JKH below Rs.150 they will become some of the best picks. However in bull market I don’t think they will come down to that level. Remember ALUF AND PARQ made losses and then made profits. Therefore some loss making companies will give bigger return within six months to 18 months especially in this bull market. I haven’t done any study on Expo recently. First I have to understand the business of ACME. Still I haven’t done any study on it. Try to follow and study GRAN, BFL, SHL and AEL very closely in the coming months. It is better to pick stocks on value, growth and future earnings. If they have momentum it will be added bonus. When a stock has great value, growth, future earnings and momentum then we should grab from our both hand. Some analysts will say buy on weakness. Some will say current price is attractive. There was some weakness in the market. AEL came down to Rs.19, SHL came down to 13.20, TAFL and GRAN came down to Rs.50 and 40. They were some of the best buy points. I believe TAFL could become supper winner in this bull market. Because it has great value, growth, future earnings and momentum. Please do some study and buy stocks.

Good luck!

VALUEPICK, thanks for sharing. Your price targets for MBSL and specially JKH are well below my best buying targets. But of course we never know what will happen. Agree with SHL and AEL as both are in my watch list. Looking forward your frequent updates.

Thank you for all comments. I don't think those stocks will come down to that level in this bull market. In my  previous writing  I mentioned when JKH hit 185 and 190 level it can bounce back. Actually many stocks are very attractive now. CSE is a value heaven.

There they have agreed again. SLFP, UNP, JVP and other political parties have come to some agreement on this 20th amendment. Just like there will be winners in the stock market, there will be winners in this election. After that there will be  government and ministers which will join with president and rule the country. As I said it will be mix of presidential and parliamentary types of government.
