Well, Do you want a gay prime minister to rule the country?
And he had proved that he is incapable of doing so within this 8 months. If Karu Jayasuriya or some one like that (not Sajith anymore) challenged MR there would be a competition.

Ranil is just a gay, rejected by most people.
MR will surely win when Ranil is challenging him.
Will he get 113? that's the only thing uncertain, and that's the reason watching elections results going to be interesting.

Temporary suspension of both secretaries of UPFA & SLFP has created now a disorderly outburst & tumult among UPFA top rankers. Everyone foresees a unexpected impact in selecting the members from national list even UPFA wins the election.

Moreover, logical & legal implications expressed by legal experts on the validity of new appointments have become the significant event of political circle.

This suspension of both secretaries of UPFA & SLFP showcase the dictatorship of MY3.

MR peacefully transferred power when he was defeated. There were 58 laks of people who voted for MR. MY3 is not considering their opinion when he is acting like this. He does not have any rights to do so.

It will be very interesting to see how he react when he discover that MR has majority of votes by day after tomorrow.

It is possible as people who voted against MR just to give him a lesson will turn around and vote for him again as he had learned a lesson.

It is possible as UNP displayed bad governance and more people are against them than they are against MR.

It is possible as military personal voted against MR before, but now most of them are against UNP government than they were against MR.

And MR will win as most people who supported for good governance are now dissatisfied and they will avoid voting or will cancel their vote.

Now MR and MS election is over. This is just to appoint the 225 members in the parliament and legally they can change their Party after the Election.

Kurunagala people can be with or against Mahinda Not others. Under any circumstances Who ever want Mahinda need to wait another 5 years where Mahinda will be a MP and then can do some thing.

This Election is to appoint the parliament.

If there are people who voted My3 and now again vote for Mahinda means they are not persistent enough on their decision. These people will change their Life decisions Daily and no one direction. Dont be a fool. Believe on your decision for at least 3 years  under any circumstance in Politics and day to day life.

This is very interesting discussion about politics. Yes we are going to see a permanent government. It is going to be more than one party government. Even in India it is same. When are we going to see single party in Sri-Lanka?

Those who did good home work on polices of political parties will be winners in the stock market. In stock market we see surprise earnings. We may see surprise election results as well. Those who did good home work will have some idea about who is going to form next government.

India is the world’s biggest, and in many respects, most remarkable democracy. Despite vast social and linguistic diversity, its political system has been surprisingly stable and effective. India has a Westminster type parliamentary system with single member plurality elections. In a seemingly major challenge to Duverger’s laws, India has developed a large multiparty system despite its SMP electoral system. Part of the answer is that the extreme multi-party system in the all-India parliament masks the nature of party competition in the electoral districts. Electoral competition can be thought of as a series of different regional level two-party contests.

Why india prefers multiparty system?

Yes VP.

It is a simple excersie. If you have any sort of political knowledge without bias to any side will know definetely this time it is a multy party Govt WIL COME to power.

This system is really good for a developing country like SL where still most of the people gave unwanted place to politics in their day to day life.

The Party System Politics has destroyed the wealth of our country.  The Constitutional Council System is more suitable to us. If a Multi Party (national) stable government to be formed with a Constitutional Council in the next Parliament,  that would be good to CSE. Because that type of government will attract the foreigners, the NFI will rise up. Domestic Trade also will develop. Because of that the ASPI will increase to 8000-8500 levels.

This time my friend, you will definitely see it this time.

Even with same result for MR as previous election, which was
5,768,090 MR leading UPFA can win majority seats in the parliament.

MY3s 6,217,162 is divided between UNP, JVP, TNA, SF etc
So they don't get the benefit of wining the bonus seat as well.

People in this country still love MR as he was the only president who wanted to defeat terrorism and brought peace to this nation.

Moreover they did not prove any allegations against him. More importantly the allegation about military take over. If it was true they would have prove it by now, they could not prove it as it was just a pure myth which they use to take away the credibility from MR when he peacefully and democratically step down from power. He proved that he was not a dictator and UNP was at shock to see this. People in this country are not fools to believe in every lie they say.

Main problem normal people had with MR government was not corruptions, it was just that they did not care about middle to poor class people that much, namely Basil was mostly responsible for that.

This time they have address that issue. When it comes to political promises MR has the upper hand compared to RW. Been a war hero in middle to poor class peoples mind, they would rather take MRs promises than RWs promises.

We will all see this result by 18th.
This is what Gammanpilla
forecast. He is a Software Engineer from Monash university Aus, a Lawyer and has 1988 A/L all Island best result in commerce. So he is someone who's word has some credibility.

MR lost fully in january to MY3. How do you expect MY3  to nominate Mahinda as the PM. This is a jork.

Even SLFP take majority those votes not for Mahinda.
Mahinda is just a candidate with eq equMP powers as a norma MP.

We saw enough reporta analysis on Jan. 08 th. Therefore no need to discuss on this.

[Absolutely correct. They should know that ordinary people cannot understand the difference between infrastructure development and welfare expenditure.  No one gives money for welfare projects so that we have to satisfy with internal funding but outsiders offer big loans for infrastructure development like harbours , highways , airports etc. Even today someone  who talked with me said  ඉස්පිරිතාලෙ ඇඳන් නෑ. බෙහෙත් නෑ . මහින්දයා පාරවල් වරායවල් හැදුව බිලියන් ගනන් වැය කරල. ]

How MR could become PM?

How many seats he has to secure in the elections for him to become PM?

For all others it is 113.

But does 113 is enough for MR?

All other parties contesting elections will not support him. So he has to secure 113 within UPFA.

But all UPFA MPs will not support him. There will be at least 20 MPs in UPFA who will directly oppose MR as PM. More will abandon him after results.

MR's magical number is not 113, but 133.

So he should steer UPFA to secure at least 133 seats. A daunting and impossible task under present situation.

As Ex-President he does not have any immunity even now.

Once MACO issued the gazette notification declaring elected MPs from Kurunegala District, his privileges as EX-President will become uncertain. Most legal experts are of the view that he is entitle privileges as an MP only. There are previous judgments given to this effect, though not involving MPs/Prime Ministers/Presidents. But they also considered as Government servants when it come to privileges.
