General Elections 2015: Campaigning to come to a stop at the strike of midnight
Election monitors say that the Elections Commissioner has granted permission for all parties to organise a single rally in each district until midnight Friday.
Executive Director of PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchi said that this decision was made during a discussion held with the participation of the Elections Commissioner, party representative and election monitors.
Speaking to News1st, Executive Director of CAFFE Keerthi Tennakoon said that it was also agreed to provide special security to selected areas on election day.
Meanwhile, the national organiser of the National Elections Monitoring Centre, Attorney-at-Law Rasanga Harischandra said that they have received one thousand four hundred and thirty six complaints on election law violations.
