Gains made by blue chip LOLC in a lacklustre performance, coupled with superlative fare by the bourse's flagship company, JKH, saw the bourse reversing five consecutive days of losses at yesterday's trading. As a result, the benchmark ASPI gained by 0.20% to 7,118.38 points and the more sensitive S&P SL 20 Index by 0.38% to 3,895.70 points on a modest Rs 806.37 million turnover.

The number of shares traded was a relatively high figure of 40.82 million. Gainers numbered 83, while losers were a marginal low at 69.

Meanwhile, LOLC on a spartan Rs 170,545 turnover and a miserly 1,675 share volume (SV), however saw its share value (SVa) gain sharply by 5.99% to Rs 102.60 a share, thereby helping market indices to make gains yesterday. In contrast, JKH, on a healthy Rs 155.67 million turnover, saw its SVa increase by an impressive 1.35% to Rs 175.30 a share on a nice SV of 890,320 which also help to uplift the market.

The bourse experienced a Rs 30.62 million net foreign inflow yesterday, though, in the year to date it has had experienced a net foreign outflow of Rs 2.96 billion.
