Five foreign banks have reportedly sought Central Bank permission to begin operations in Sri Lanka.

While it has been reported that two of the largest banks in Japan and China are among these five, they are preparing to begin operations in Sri Lanka after the Central Bank approves them.

i heard little time ago that GSF has a japanese hand in it who is looking to buy a big part of GSF to enter the srilankan market.

the checked the GSF main share holder list and 4th one is a Japanese share holder....... any clue??

i wonder whether the Japanese bank mentioned here would be entering through this GSF japanese hand?

this is only a wisdom guess... any opinion there you guys?
