Warning only for real investors

Sinhaputra Financial has given its Financial Report for the quarter ended September 30 2015.

They have given their EPS as 2.23 for the period. (Page 2)

They have clearly mentioned Rs. 2.23 as the earning for a share for the last quarter. (Page 2 )

This is completely wrong and false.

The actual EPS for the period is 55 Cents and NOT 2.23 Rupees.

If you consider earnings of a company before taking investment decisions pl. be aware of this horrific misleading information in SFL finance report.

Further....

EPS for first 6 months is 0.87 . If you annualize by x 2 to get a raw figure for 12 months, 0.87 x 2 = 1.75 per year.

Yes, it is misleading. They have gone and show annualised eps as current qtr eps.

They have multipled current eps in to 4 and showing us. Funny reporting....

I saw this kind reporting by some companies but they clearly say it as - Earning per share ( annualised ).

why CSE or a department can't take an action against if a company mislead their financial reports

Net Assets around 16. this is good share to invest

This stock is high attractive stock.
Lower Bound P/E = 14
Upper Bound P/E = 20 possible. (These ratios are calculated according to past performance )

another things is improving, Government Big Person involved

SFL is future winning stock.

in there financial report they have missed one keyword "Annualized"
I will report to them. then next financial report you can see that key work (assume they will fixed)

Sadde thibuna hatiyata wada naha. Both SFL & BLI are going to be the same. SFL in terms of financials can't be rated as super over the counters such as COCR, VFIN, SFIN, HDFC where all of them are trading over a 40% discount to industry.

On the other hand some people tried to explode this forum saying BLI will be 200 when the sub division date but it didn't com even closer. They further said they will deliver super result but that too is doubtful to me.

Now it is clear that all these stories are 'pus wedi' and we must face the truth and move forward. So my dear friends now it is the time to leave behind all these stories and to chase behind the counters that are of real value. GL in value investing.

මම ඉහත comment එක දම්මෙ කාවවත් එක්ක තරහින් නොවේ. බැරිවෙලාවත් කවුරු හරි මේ 2.23 දැකපු ගමන් මාස 3 ට 2.23 නම් 2.23 x 4 x 10 , 2.23x 4 x 15 වගේ ගනන් හදල 90.00 - 135.00 ක් වටින ශෙයා එකක් නේ කියා ඉක්මනට අතේ තියෙන සල්ලි මදිවට ණයත් අරන් මාජින් යුස් කරල ගත්තොත් මොකද වෙන්නෙ ? මේක දැම්මෙ නැත්නම් බැලුම් පුම්බන බබාල අනිවා මෙතනත් ඒක පුම්බන්න ගනී.

බොහෝ වෙලාවට මම දැකල තියෙනව ඇනුවලයිස් ලෙස සඳහන් කර තිබියදී පවා එය මග හැරිලා දැක්ක ගමන් නැවත 4 න් වැඩි කරන අය. එක සැරයක් සේලාන් බැංකුවේ රිපොට් වල annualized කියන වචනය EPS for the period ට කෙලින් නැතිව පහත අපැහැදිලි ලෙස කුඩාවට දාල මිනිස්සු අමාරුවේ වැටුනා.

මුන් එහෙමවත් මේකෙ එය සඳහන් කරල නෑ. ගිය පාරත් ඕකම කළා. 'මුන්' යැයි කිව්වෙ ඊට වඩා සුදුසු වචනයක් මුන් ව හඳුන්වන්න නැති නිසා.

ඇත්ත වශයෙන්ම ඕනෑම රිපෝට් එකක උඩ "මාස 3 සඳහා ගිණුම් වාර්තාව" ලෙස සඳහන් කරනවා නම් EPS දියයුත්තේ ඒ මාස 3ටය. annualized ලෙස සඳහන් වචනයෙන් සඳහන් කළත් එලෙස කිරීම පවා හිතා මතා නොමඟ යවන සුලුය. ඔක්කොම මාස 3 නම් අන්තිම එක විතරක් annualized කරන්න තියෙන අමාරුව කුමක් ද ? ඉදිරි කාලයේ ඒ ආදායම එලෙස වෙන්නෙ නැති බව ස්ථිරව කවුරුත් දන්නව, එක්කෝ ඉහල නැත්නම් පහල යනව.
annualise නොකර පැහැදිලිව මාස 3 සඳහා EPS දක්වන සමාගම් තියෙනව. කිහිප දෙනෙක් පමණයි annualise කරන්නෙ. ඒකම පැටෙලෙන සුලුයි.

EPS = net income / average outstanding common shares
For example, McGraw Hill Financial Inc (MHFI) reported first quarter 2014 net income of $248 million and had 277.2 million average shares outstanding. To calculate EPS, investors can insert these figures into the EPS calculation:
EPS = $248 million / 277.2 million = $0.89
