The Bank closed the 9 months ending 30thSeptember 2015 with a post-tax profit of Rs.1, 939Mn, down by 2% over the previous period.

As expected.

Even Commercial Bank's results will not be very impressive.

SEYB & PABC rode against the tide very impressively. Hats off to their Dealers in Treasury.

HNB and SAMP are not highly exposed to treasury operations, so FIS portfolio movements have minimal impact on it.

COMB however has had quite an impact which has been set off through improved performances in other areas.

Apparently 2-3% adverse variance in quarterly results does not mean poor performance of operations as banking & finance sector runs under tough economic challenges.

Budget proposals, seasonal trend & possible $ rate hike are the related events being discussed for market slowdown. Whatever, another opportunity is open to see technically how 7000 resistance level stands against the continuous market plunge.

The above is true for the core lending operations. On the other hand, treasury and FOREX must always adapt to market conditions and ride against the tide.

However, fair enough that quarterly results alone are too narrow a measure of performance, we must have a look at year end.
