Normally January we can expect bull run..

But when we go back and check the behavior in market

Case:-2012 January

It is almost equal to currant economic & political situation in 2016 January.

1. Exchange rate (rupee depreciation) Expected - USD @154

2. Lover GDP Rate - 4.8%

3. Interest rate expected to be increase - at least 200 points

4. Continuous foreign net outflow.

Pls comment the expectation in January with reasons????

Yes, you are right. Interest rates in the Fed and BOE are going to be increased. however we should refer the 6 yearly cycle of behavior in all indices including cse's aspi and S&P20. In January we will see the market stabilizing if not, reacting to the news of the interest rates globally and in Colombo. foreign investors are troubled over data in England because the monetary market data indicates a smaller than usual spread in LIBOR (inter bank burrowing rates) and quarterly forcasted t bill rates. this data is likely to keep asian market more attractive in the short-term.

That means even the Colombo bourse will see net foreign buying. Local investors will also show indication of optimism because unemployment levels in asia are expected to drop bellow the six-year-low during the first quarter of next year. This coupled with the drop in oil prices will result in the stimulus everybody in the CSE was expecting -GET READY TO PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sri Lanka foreign reserves have shown signs of improving recovering to 7.3bn in November from 6.5bn in October. The infra development projects are ready to be started from Q1 2016 onward. Port City too will be started very soon. Above all of these Q4 2015 recorded a negative growth in CSE. So technically CSE should be positive from January 2016 onward.

ASI Daily chart is on the verge of forming a tiny but sexy double bottom. Hopes up. Weekly chart also looks good, even though I don't like the monthly chart !
