Well, Corruption is corruption. I'm not against any party or any one here. Just wondered, till we see corruption and wrongdoing as a country, and speak against them without party colours we will not go forward. We just have to reject all have corruption connections regardless of how famous they are.

the focus was not on them then because they had some thing called " KOTTI " to blame and cover up from the innocent hard working citizen indepth focus.

only solution to this is in my humble view is that the all Ven Monks should not cosy with the politicians and should take the side of the common people to get this politicians to do the right thing and completely come out of political involvement what so ever.

COPE member and Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said the Central Bank had given Rs. 66 billion to the primary dealer Perpetual Treasuries between February 2015 to March 2016 and added there was a prima facie case against former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran in respect of his tenure as the governor.

Minister Jayasekara also said the information before the Parliamentary oversight committee COPE reveals that the Perpetual Treasuries has obtained these loans without any security and invested them in bonds.

Addressing the weekly SLFP news conference, Minister Jayasekara said however, after an inquiry conducted under the new governor on the issue, the Perpetual Treasuries have been fined for a ridiculous Rs.21 million for the improper transaction.

Minister Jayasekara said it was extremely unusual and disproportionate that the Perpetual Properties alone had recorded a profit of 1853% from bond dealing while all other 15 primary dealers had earned only 37% of profits in 2015 and 2016 and added former governor Mahendran should not have accepted the governor’s post in the first place when he was offered it while his son in law was a primary dealer or at least he should have asked his son in law not to act as a primary dealer while he was serving as the governor.

He said there must be a strong fool proof mechanism to deal with this kind of financial misappropriations involving the public money and the government must direct its attention on priority basis to bring legislations if the current laws were inadequate to deal with major financial crimes. One wonders why the UNPers who vehemently objected to findings of AG and was to prepare another report changed their stance overnight and supported the chairman's position and recommendations. In my opinion the next step would be for the FCID to investigate the alleged scam and to take legal action against the perpetrators. The investigation phase will drag on indefinitely and nothing will come out of it. All of us who voted for a change can only call for divine intervention as all have lost faith in the so called yahapalanaya.

Robbers trade T bonds as soon as they get their margins.
You can't revers the process.

Only solution is, prove their illegal actions and impose a big fine . But it will drag for years.
You know, when you have billions (earned without any effort ) you can buy almost everything.

Ultimately some official will get the punishment for not following the guidelines.
Genera public will be paying back billions for 30 years and EPF will have to bare income loss in billions.
