As a share holder I do like to see the market go up and Green ....

Since CSE & shares influenced by politics we need to do our analysis very carefully.

These few weeks very important and if you stuck with margins you can sell with minimum lost or little profits.

If you plan to enter and buy be careful, political shares going up(pushed up) instantly  Wink

ruwan, for nearly 4 years investors witnessed a sluggish lifeless market. I have mentioned about the irreparable damage done by the ousted regime to the economy & the country's reputation. Nevertheless the challenges would be overcome at the earliest.

The answer to your golden question is known to the world. Forming a coalition and fielding MS as the presidential candidate coupled with the "good governance" slogan, because RW was incapable of winning any presidential election.

On the 16th President's wishes will come true & UNPers may call it a Parliamentary coup.

In my opinion the newly formed govt will have to formulate consistent policies and attract FDIs and certainly we should see a vibrant stock market within a year's time.

Srilanka will not attract FDI .who the hell is going to build manufacturing plant with high cost energy and high labour cost.
Srilanka can only focus on highly skilled IT jobs ..etc. Tourism coupled with casino.,other entertainment .
Dedicated areas for red street activities.
And as new hub for international intermediary like singapore .with development of "Kra " canal and silk road.
Otherwise enough invesment is dream.
Srilanka should focus on selected higj quality organic export base crops like mangoes, pineapple, passion, cinnomen, pepper.
Should reduce tea productoon gradually focusing on ceylon tea brand.
Those areas should be developed with new forest and suitable crops like above.
Imports should be controlled

Hello Ruwan, just made a comment to a different article posted by you

In my opinion all will depend how India is going to respond. Mahinda visited India & Modi not even 1 month ago. Though it then looked like a normal visit, now when you lok back, it appears MR would have given certain assurances to Modi with regard to N&E issue under a future govt under his leadership. I believe His discussion with Sambandan today also would have revolved around more devolution to North & East under his leadership in a future govt.

Sambandan and of course India know, if greater devolution to come for North & East it has to come from a leader upon whom the Southerners have trust and confidence like MR whom the Southereners believe will never betray them

And we all know that UNP under Ranil Wickramasinghe has only a 20% voter base compared to MR's 40% and not forgetting  the 10% of MS in the Southern(approximate figures from last local elections)

So a workable solution to N&E has to come from a popular Southerener like Mahinda Rajapaksha and not from Ranil Wickramasinghe who is not trusted by the Southereners. It seems India & Sambandan have now understood and realised that reality.
