Watawala Plantations will be investing 1 billion rupees into its dairy operations, a top official said.

Watawala Plantations Managing Director Vish Govindasamy said that 1.06 billion rupees will be invested in Watawala Dairy Ltd as equity.

The funds will be used for capital restructuring of WDL, including converting a related party debt of 450 million rupees into equity.

WDL has a dairy farm with over 1,000 milch cows, set up in 2018. The business is expected to become profitable in three years.

Watawala's parent Sunshine Holdings sold its tea business Hatton Plantations for 1 billion rupees last week.

WATA is good company and continuously performing well in plantations sector due to palm oil plants. My comment is only for the news item of 1Billion investment in diary farm.

Agree with yahapalana , ..WATA has a huge palm oil cultivation & most of plants still are babies. In 1-2 year huge harvest can be expected . My taget is WATA 38 in medium to long

WATA creates linear upward curves against weighted average volumes vs Earnings and gearing, so i revised my WATA target 31.70
Remember Teller recommended WATA @20 rupees and target was given 23.50(Result achieved), in same way WATA will adjust 31.70 with forcsated earnings. Most Of the WATA palm trees oil processing is havesting stage.
