The country needs a corruption free people’s government for tomorrow, and the SLFP tries its best to bring in honest, dedicated leaders and not those who work for themselves, their families and henchmen, President Maithripala Sirisena said.
President Sirisena was addressing the SLFP Galle District Convention at the Elpitiya Public Grounds on Saturday afternoon. He said that it is not his political policy to allow corruption.

The President said he had taken every step posle to curb corruption and fraud. “I am the only President who appointed Presidential Commissions to investigate corruption of the former governments and the government in power today.
President Sirisena said he had no allegations against him unlike that of all previous presidents. They were accused of human rights violations, gathering assets and revenging political opponents. He said that by mid-November, he will end his term as the cleanest politician whom the people voted for, for the presidency so far.
