This is what the stimulus package that Trump gave 5 years back is still doing for them.. Our ppl are busy finding faults in our package and the country is going no where.. 2,500 year great history mentality

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’ cabinet of ministers had cleared changes to tax laws to give effect to taxes that were slashed by the new administration.

The laws have to be passed in parliament. The Department of Inland Revenue had issued instructions to cut taxes before the laws were changed.

The changes were made to the Nation Building Tax (a turnover tax), Ports and Aviation Levy (an import duty), Economic Service Charge and Valued Added Tax.

The amendments already drafted were cleared by the cabinet and would not be published in the government gazette and presented to parlaiment

Changes were also proposed o to income tax laws to lift withholding tax, amend income tax rates.

The cabinet of ministers had also approved a proposal by the finance minister to instruct the legal draftsman to draw up changes to the law. (Colombo/Jan10/2020)

Haha, i predicted this one month earlier. Rupee will be another historical low with in 2 weeks. If we want to avoid the situation , we must hike fuel prices.

Shares will move within short range. There may be few big gainers and some big losers. Long term investors will not lose.

Teller predicted this on Jan 6, still 133 points should down based on initial prediction. Now re calculated it. It will down maximum another 83.5, that means we are near to recovery. I mean rebound. That means ASPI will rebound 5772/-, It will be a strong one. Lets see.

Hi Kipling
Maybe. But i guess it will be over before feb ends.
Some factors such as corona caused the delay to start the uptrend.

@,Thili, Hi teller what is the technique u use to predict ASPI???
Its a series of calculation, its not easy 1+1=2 , or 12x2= 24 , you should know standard deviation or calculus(anukalanaya /awakalanaya) to get a final figure. Advance analysers use that.
