Feb 25, Colombo:

All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association says that the price of bread will be reduced by 5 rupees from midnight tomorrow. Accordingly, price of a 450 gram loaf of bread will be reduced by five rupees.

The All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association said the implementation of price reduction was made possible due to the tax concessions given by the government.

Although bakery owners have been asking governments for years to exempt them from VAT, there has been no positive response from the previous governments, the Association says.

The All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association says with the new government coming to power, exempting them from VAT and NBT was a huge relief.

Finally ordinary people will feel tax reliefs.

Here are the ways i felt that tax relief,

1. Cost of sms reduced to 0.24rs from 0.29rs.
2. Withhold tax removal when receiving dividends.
3. Mobile reloading package allowances increased.

Now bakery products also will come to lower prices. Good.

But that happened with the tax cuts. What did you mean? Do you think they will increase tax rates after GE?

High chances are available.

Currently they are looking for 2/3 majority in upcoming GE. Thus they will do these minor things to divert voters mindset. ... Very Happy
