Hi I read an article on medium yesterday which people are sharing on the "reasons to invest in Cse" and want to know your thoughts. I think it is too positive, but in the long term, it is good to build a dividend portfolio in Sri Lanka?

If you look at the past ten years, there is no return at all right but a lot of people have positive sentiment after the election! Is it justifiable? If we want to see real profits what is the time period we should look at? 10-years? 20-years?

Depends on how you trade / invest. There are people who make sizable gains in a down market as well as there are those who lose money even in a bullish bourse.

I've shared it with all my WhatsApp groups, even though I think it's a bit too optimistic 😊

Out of the million other reasons, this one is fairly encouraging to current (existing) investors/hedge fund buggers. But experienced businessmen may agree with me to say things are going to be hard at least for the next 2 years. I think it is too early to come to conclusions reading reports (even the ones from the IMF & the likes of it) that include words that are too positive that may be titled "Road to recovery" or "Getting up again". Truth be told, I don't think the authors of such reports really assessed the magnitude of the impact of COVID19. At the same time it is the duty of everyone to support and not to suppress efforts to recovery.

The hard fact is Covid19 weakened the economy of developed nations and has opened doors of opportunities for developing nations. But some of us still think if uncle Sam & our colonial masters are still grappling with covid we too have no future. Let us get out of this shit hole thinking if we are to move forward.

The bullish sentiment in CSE will gain momentum with a galore of good news that favours our economy.Even foreign interest in CSE will return very soon.

But right now, a lot of our economy's cash inflows depend a lot on North America and Europe right?

capital gain. long term wealth building. How can you do this? Correct buying price is the only way to preserve capital and  avoid any risk.

Understand the value of a balance portfolio. Today’s loss makers are tomorrow’s stars. Strong demand seen in biscuits, spices, rice, egg, poultry, beef, pork, vegetables, fruits, fish, chilies, potatoes, green gram, red cow-pea, dhal and coconut nuts. Prices in July/August  are higher than 2019. More demand + exports on the way. Where are those predictors/fortune tellers? Think about bargain(value), dividend ,growth portfolio.
Please keep this thread to update and track solid companies.
