President has firmly said "NO" to cultivation of oil palm in Sri Lanka. It will be stopped completely President added.
The plantations involved in palm oil cultivation is due to incur huge losses owing to the large amount of oil palm plants maturing in nurseries over 3 years, which could result in a loss of a staggering 500 Million rupees.
(source: 'Mirror Business of 21st Aug'20)

However, in my opinion the move benefits the preservation of Environment for the future generation as the negative impacts are so severe

What would be the impact to Companies linked to cultivation of oil palm?????

If it was the former regime they may have oiled the palms, now that also cannot be done.GOVT DECIDES TO STOP PALM OIL CULTIVATION Icon_lol
