I saw this info in another forum member's post and I found this information valuable to share with you all.

*Can you all expect banking giants & the most capitalized companies in CSE to trade these attractive price levels in ASI 6000+++ market.

*No it will not happen & share prices of banks surely will adjust to it's true values sooner than later.

*These sector has now become the most under valued sector in CSE.

*It's over to you to take the decision....

*Banks shares are the most beaten down shares during Yahapalana Govt time, during COVID time & so on. But yet to recover to it's true potential levels.

*Last 4Q profits figures of few of major banks...

*Banking shares should not trade these levels for sure.

*Don't sell your banking shares at loss or discount to the trading prices.

*Banking shares are massively discount to the overall market now.

*These share prices of banks should adjust to their fair values very soon.

*This is not accepted coz banks are the blood of the economy of any country. If we are expecting an economic development then banks should be in the front line & lead the CSE.....

*Hope market will identify the values of banking shares sooner than later.

Hi all,

I view banks as good investment purely based on NAV.

However, following 4 reasons would kill the earnings potential in next couple of quarters
1. currently interest rate
2. cashflow delay as a result of moratorium facilities
3. asset liability mismatch
4. High Level of NPA resulting increases provisional cover
(Eg-Sampath being the best in NPA during 2015~16 @ 1.6% now aro bow around 7% or more which would eventually increase further with moratorium defaults)

So, what i feel is the hit spiked from COVID19 was passed to Banks by the Government and now it is being realized in their financials.

The banks may record hikes in share price in line with overall positive sentiment in the market but bit difficult to sustain.

However if you wish to hold for about 9~15 months, banks will be a super investment

Good Luck

Sampath and HNB (X is attractive more for me) are my pics from the banking shares. If there is anyone who do not hold banking shares in the portfolio it is high time you collect and hold for investment purposes. They are bound to increase.

Mithooshan as you said it is good time to collect banking shares and hold it for another short time. Before I recommend these to any one else I have collected
COMB
HNB
DFCC
SAMP
NDB
form the covid19 start and did not sell because I know the value of these. please buy always when the price pushing down as others who wants  push down these counters to collect. Take advantage of this situations and hold for a short time. these shares will bounce back definitely with their values. GL Smile Smile

I have not mentioned COMB, DFCC and NDB in my list but as you have mentioned all these three will good returns. These will play an important role in index reaching new highs in times to come.
