So, basically the confidence the foreigners have on CSE was lacking in some of the local investors who were completely misguided and misdirected by unscrupulous forces pretending to be advisors & saviours, indirectly and in a subtle way forcing them to take decisions which they may not have taken otherwise.
Most of the measures that have been taken by the govt at the moment are preventive measures, but this is blown out of proportion by unscrupulous elements to exploit the situation by spreading false rumours via social media and in this forum. Compared to most other countries in the world we can take pride in the successful control of the pandemic when it broke out for the first time here. That was the time many of us even went to the extent of withdrawing our deposits from financial institutions, as the pandemic was completely alien to all of us.
As at now more than 4000 people tested positive, except for 13 deaths, others have recovered and are in the process of recovering and none reported to be on ventilators. Finally, the detection of covid cases at 'Brandix' will only result in production losses to that organization and the preventive measures taken by Govt can lead to an insignificant loss of productivity to the country. It must be noted that the country and its economy has been resilient facing crisis and turmoil in the past.
In conclusion, there is a bright future for Sri Lanka's economy and CSE and in my opinion there is no valid reason whatsoever to panic.
