Yes I believe investors were cautious this week awaiting the budget. Although several companies released super financials it didn’t have much of an impact on share prices. Maybe the share prices had already adjusted to their fair values in expectation of good financials as well so there was not much room to improve further.

I believe Monday/Tuesday will be a busy collection day as budget speech is on Tuesday evening by which time CSE will be closed. (Correct me if I’m wrong on the budget speech timing). Wednesday all the sectors which will get benefits will start to move. Manufacturing, construction, exports, power and energy should benefit. Will they also announce anything on vehicle imports? If they announce at least a partial relaxation then finance companies will also benefit. Banks, hotel sectors will have to wait for a while.

The way Mahinda blasted the yahapalanya policies yday mean there will be some aggressive moves in this budget.

True.
There were rumors about partial removal of import sanction. Dont know for whom. And also ANC told other story on TV that we have to wait some time again due to Covid season 2.
PM of the gov and a minister told about despite Corona they go for vision as early. SL to be center Hub of naval operations, freight ,logistic etc. If so stocks like EXPO have big fuel to fly. They mentioned Construction of roads, port city and houses. AEL ,real estate stocks will be having support. In case of ownership transfer of building renting companies there will be price up no?

"" The government will present the budget based on President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s ‘Vistas of Prosperity’ Policy Statement targeting people centric development, economic development and welfare for the people. In addition the government will put forward proposals in the budget to revitalize the collapsed businesses and business sector, the Finance Secretary said.""
