The factory is located on a three-acre land in IPZ at Katunayake.
The factory would provide 300 job opportunities and aiming to produce meat products such as sausages, meatballs, ham, bacon including local traditional food varieties with premium quality and targets to export its products to the Maldives, Middle East Countries and India.
Several Parliamentarians including Namal Rajapaksa, Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Kanchana Wijesekera, D.V Chanaka, Arundika Fernando and Siripala Gampalth  participated at the opening ceremony.

Daily mirror is quite funny. Original headline was Opening of South Asia largest MEAT processing factory..... now it has changed to FOOD processing factory after people commented on hypocrisy of setting up a meat processing factory when production of beef criticized few months ago by the same people.
