IT IS JUST A SMALL DIP. A 10-15% DIP WAS SEEN IN AUGUST AND REACHED ATH IN SEPTEMBER.

still I can not find the direction.

Rates discounted ahead of China’s Golden Week holiday

All-inclusive container rates from North and Southeast Asia to North America eased ahead of China’s Golden Week holiday beginning Oct. 1, but lull is expected to be temporary as there has been no change to strong demand.

Another surge expected ahead of Lunar New Year

The weakness in prices and bookings is likely to be short-lived as shipments are expected to pick up again by the end of the month, and shippers may start gearing up to build stocks before Lunar New Year in February.
“Chinese New Year is earlier this time – it’s on Feb. 1 – so there is definitely going to be a rush of cargo after the Golden Week and the blank sailings are going to result in a higher pile-up,” the logistics provider said.

JOC Rankings: Disruption boosts NVOs to majority share of booming trans-Pacific
EXPOLANKA HOLDINGS PLC (EXPO.N0000) - Page 21 Article-81-20210920215217
US importers have increasingly turned to non-vessel-operating common carriers (NVOs) to secure capacity during the last 10 months amid widespread vessel and equipment shortages stemming from a massive spike in consumer demand.
NVOs controlled 53.1 percent (nearly 6.8 million TEU) of total eastbound trans-Pacific volume through the first eight months of 2021, up from the 46.9 percent of imports from Asia booked through NVOs during the same period in 2020 and 43.9 percent in 2019, according to data from PIERS, a sister company of JOC.com within IHS Markit.
Of the top 25 NVOs providing capacity from Asia to the United States, 23 saw their volumes rise by double-digit percentages on a year-over-year basis, with total NVO volumes rising 44.1 percent during the period. Percentage gains were led by Sri Lanka–based forwarder EFL, which handled 62,279 TEU through August, a 308.4 percent increase from last year.

Freight costs keep surging despite shipping giants freezing prices

EXPOLANKA HOLDINGS PLC (EXPO.N0000) - Page 21 Container-Cargo-Ship-Motion-Open-Sea_News-494x413

Shipping costs are continuing to rise despite some carriers suspending rate increases and investigations by competition regulators, with the price for ocean freight on popular routes up by more than 500% in the last year.

Ocean freight rates have been soaring this year as demand for goods picked back up after the pandemic triggered a sharp slump across sectors. Disruption from lockdowns and a shortage of workers and containers have only exacerbated matters.

Air freight bookings soar 70% this month as firms bid to bypass ports chaos and get goods into UK in time for Christmas - as shoppers are told to 'order gifts early' or risk them being stranded at sea 'until 2022'

 • Air Charter Service said demand had skyrocketed this month having already surged during Covid pandemic

 • It comes as millions in UK were today urged to order gifts for Christmas immediately to avoid disappointment

 • Experts warn the crisis will not be solved until '2022' and will lead to gaps on the shelves during festive period

 • Toys, games consoles, smart phones, white goods, chocolate and Christmas trees are predicted to be short
